So far so good! - Update

I have been here for a little over a month. So far everyone in the office seems pretty nice, but I know that all the naysayers will say that will change after a few months like all other apartments...perhaps it will as it has happened to me several times before at other complexes, but I will update this review to reflect any future problems or praise. Please forgive that digression though...my first day in the apartment saw the AC unit cease working, fortunately the office had the maintenance people there within 20 minutes of the call taking place and the big AC unit on the outside of the building was replaced with a functioning one within 4 hours...that sealed the deal, I knew this place would be good. To follow that up we had a minor maintenance request to have a loose cabinet door fixed (we didn't even use that particular bathroom frequetnly), it was fixed by the days end! Everyone in the office has been friendly and helpful so far and they actually seem to have a grasp on the concept of customer service which is sorely lacking in many apartments these days. Sure the prices are a little higher than other apartments but the peace of mind in knowing that the office has been there to help so far certainly justifies some of the increased cost. The other factors that make this a good overall bargain are: relatively quiet apartment complex (there is occasional noise but not nearly as bad as other apartments in the area), the pool is of course busy on the weekends and after 4-5pm on weekdays but any other time it is very mellow, the grounds are well cared for yada yada yada. To wrap it up, customer service is very important to me (given a history of not receiving it from apartment mangament offices) and I have received that so far here. The apartment has a high percentage of young professionals and not too many college students (no hatred to the students, it's just that you all can be a little boisterous at off hours). I would highly recommend this apartment (as long as you are not noisy and won't mess up the good groove going on there now!)
Update: 2/4/09: Been here about a year so far, no new maintenance requests to speak of. Only issue has been the occasional dinosaur-fart bass sound systems in cars and an upstairs neighbor who likes to vacuum and do laundry at 1am - such is apartment life, but I honestly believe I hear less here than at my previous apartments. I will be staying another year, just renewed my lease for the same rate, plus an annoying 4 dollar admin charge for a notice we used to receive for free, in the grand scheme of things 4 dollars is only 48 a year and to only be paying 48 more per year when other apartments have made it a habit of continually raising rent by 5-10% or more every year...not too bad. I have habitually moved 1x/year due to these increased rents and I am relieved that I can take a year off. All in all, still pretty happy with this apartment.

Actually, I agree with this reviewer spot on, the repair techs are very very fast and the ladies at the front office are very friendly. Guilty as charged I am one of those idiots that the reviewer mentioned that likes to do their laundry at 1am in the morning. Anyway, I have lived here for 3 years and it's been consistently pleasant.
