We enjoyed living here for 2 years

We lived in a nice apartment here for two years. Our lease ends soon and we are only leaving because we are moving out of state. Our rent increase when we renewed last year was less than 5%, and although a bit pricey we liked the location and how nice the place was.

Parking can be tough if you are coming in after 9pm or so. We had one covered spot and for the other we usually got a close spot but on occasion had to park far away.

The office staff was always very friendly with us for everything from maintenance to packages and questions about our lease. I'd say there is one woman that I dislike as she always seems quite snobby about everything but the other ladies are very sweet.

We had some small bug problems a few times in the summer. They would bring someone in to treat on Fridays which was usually fine as it was often just a few little ants in the kitchen that were taken care of easily. One particular night though we came home and they were all over our bedroom floors like crazy and after a seething voice mail that I left really late after hours because I was so upset they called the next morning and got someone in that day to take care of it. So it was a terrible experience, but they took care of it as soon as the knew of it.

Anything else that had to do with maintenance was always taken care of very quickly. One day or less for everything we have ever made a request for.

It is a relatively safe area although even the nicest parts of town can have problems. The gates are open a lot, but I don't think I have ever lived anywhere when there wasn't a broken gate left open for weeks or months at a time. They seem to malfunction just about anywhere, and as I said, it's a pretty suburban soccer mom type of residential area that you don't need to worry about much.

The pools and fitness centers are pretty nice, although I never really used them much. Resident's don't seem to do a very good job of cleaning up after their dogs which is kind of annoying, but that isn't really the managements fault I suppose. Although I did wish they had a better way of dealing with it than sending out threats of penalty fees to all residents as it didn't seem to help much.

So there you go, we liked it. Really it was probably the best to be hoped for as far as a managed property goes. It's not like these are some posh residential towers with a valet and a concierge that you pay 4,000 a month for. Service is good and the community is nice.

Although, as an end note... we haven't had final inspection yet. If we don't get our deposit back I'll probably be livid and wish I hadn't wrote this. Just consider that when you read some of these other reviews. One simple thing like only getting back half our deposit for damages I know we have caused... and I'll give them a 1.0 rating and discard everything good about ever living here.

Nice fluff piece. I find it amazing how this person covered every point that someone else wrote about & had issues with. How could two people have such a different views.....hmmmm does this person work in the office....I think so.

Wow how did you get so lucky to only have a 5% increase? I lived there for 2 years & renewed $90 more which was close to 15%. Then the next years they wanted another $125 again almost 15%. The parking here has always $ucked. After 9 pm you'd better have a car port or a garage or you'll be walking aways. Granted it's usually less then 100 yards but I don't wanna be carrying stuff that far. Huh the office staff is sweet...ya right! Unless you need something done. As for bugs/ants/what ever you had. I got so tired of calling them I started treating myself, because I wasn't about to wait a week to get rid of them. Relatively safe....hmmm how can that be when the gate is broken more then working. I have to drive by there all the time for work & it's still broken more then it works....or maybe it "just happens" to be open when ever I drive by. Ya you hit the nail on the head about pool area. That was the best part of living there. Well I'd almost rather pay the 4K to live in a condo! At least I wont have to deal with them any more. Oh wait...I was smart & I moved ...never mind

I think that different people can have different experiences, and that this kind of site will view anyone with a positive opinion as a liar. I didn't say this place was perfect and most of the areas you responded to weren't even praises of perfection from me to begin with. I am just saying that most of our issues were responded to very well. Our rent increase was low b/c we renewed when rents were low. It was increased by $30 a month for us. A great thing to do if your apartments have online rates is to check them often if you know you want to continue living somewhere. Rates constantly fluctuate and have several times of year where business is slow and they drop a lot. Often this is around the holidays starting in November and going through the beginning of January. We checked a lot when we started to think about renewing and were able to jump on a good rate. I know there have been plenty of times this year when they have actually dropped lower than our rent because of the economy, but we were already planning a move so we couldn't take advantage of it.

I think the rate increases just depend on when you renew. I renewed last August and had ZERO rent increase. And just because someone has a positive experience does not mean they work in the office. I think there is a huge difference in opinion between the two sides of the street (2600 and 2601). Which building you live in also makes a big difference. I love my apartment but I know someone that lives a few buildings away who has serious noise issues and can't wait to leave.
