Nice apartment, management is uptight

The apartment and the complex are in great condition. They keep up with the grounds well. It's right off of Mopac, so it's easy to get just about anywhere in town. The bathrooms and kitchen are large for apartments this size.
The management makes me uncomfortable. When we signed the final papers on our moving day, they added a $5 a month fee to our rent to cover a document fee. They didn't tell us about this beforehand. They also had another resident sign our lease, so they whited out his name and had us sign over his signatures. That was weird. When they make a mistake, they try to make us feel like it was our fault. They didn't have us sign some additional lease documents on our move-in day and called me telling me I had to come in ASAP to sign papers *I* had neglected to take care of. Recently I went to the office twenty minutes before closing to sign papers and they tried to make me feel guilty for stopping them from closing up the office. (I was able to sign the few papers and leave well before their posted closing time.)
Some of the reviewers have mentioned the car break-ins. From my experience, every apartment complex has car vandalism at some point. The management changed the gate code and got police to come through more often. There really isn't much more they can do to prevent theft. (There was a few weeks where the gate wasn't functioning because someone drove into it and bent it, but that wasn't the managements fault.)
