Problems all around (and company knows it)

I moved into the "nicer" side of the apartments: large floorplans, private garages. Happy to find it as it appeared most people on this side were successful working professionals (judging by the # of high end vehicles), and we'd not have to deal with the late night noisy parties or strange apt. soap opera drama. We moved here for a new job, and signed a lease rather then assume another mortgage while we attempted to sell our house where we are from. Two weeks in we were regretting that decision. Granted, for an apartment, they are quite attractive LOOKING. But noise infiltration from around us has been such a nightmare. We may have avoided 3 am parties, but the noise is almost as bad simply b/c of no insulation! We have to run a box fan in our room to even be able to sleep (as we live below night owls), we can hear phone conversations, coughing, normal talking, I can track exactly the path my upstairs neighbor is walking, I can even tell you what drawer/cabinet they are opening. I've actually had to turn up my TV to avoid hearing a VERY personal conversation my neighbor appeared to be having. Thank goodness our 2nd bedroom is not USED as a bedroom b/c for some reason these A/C units are so ridiculously loud, no one can possibly sleep in there (and yes, I have lived in many apartments and houses next to A/C units...this is very different). Our cabinets have actually fallen off their hinges, malfunctioning microwave, rattling water pipes (plus a leak), carpet pulling up, cracks in the ceiling/bathroom. Closet shelf support bars not even MEETING the shelf or drilled into straight drywall. I noticed the other day that part of my bathroom countertop doesn't meet the cabinets, so they shoved a squished up toilet paper roll in to support it. And something is up with the water, nasty accumulations of sediment and rust keep clogging my shower/faucet heads.

Finally stopped seeing scorpions, but tons of silverfish still.

And the funny thing is that one day I was speaking to a staff member, and they mentioned that they believed Fingers was suing the company they hired to construct this side of the complex! Just sad... And I really did like the staff..those poor people can't help that their company built a pretty looking lemon.

It's a good thing they did sell this side of the complex, but not only is the price they're asking for these units laughable (you can buy up in Travis West a REAL house for the same price!), but these are NOT built to condo specs regarding noise reduction. I truly feel for anyone who actually is suckered into purchasing this as a home.
