When I first moved here, I loved the place. Great view, quiet area, good for bike riding or just walking in the evenings. But over time, I've come to realize that a good view doesn't make up for careless office staff and maintenance people.

I've reported 4 problems in the 2 years I've been here, and only one was ever really fixed. The a/c unit was causing the faucets and air vents in the guest bathroom to produce a lot of mildew. They came out and replaced some part (that had been recalled months before), and that mostly stopped the mildew problem. They didn't bother cleaning the existing mildew from the air vents, though.

A bedroom window won't stay open, so the maintenance guy fiddled with it for a few minutes before saying he'd "fixed it". End result - the window still doesn't stay open.

The kitchen sink will occasionally make some kind of knocking noise when I'm running water, and the vegetable spray will leak water while the faucet is on. This happens for a month and then stops on its own for 2 or 3 months. The maintenance guy came by, said he's seen that kind of problem before and could never figure out how to fix it, and I'm still having to deal with it.

For the last 3 months, the exit gate that is right outside my bedroom window squeals loudly every time it opens and closes. I've reported the squealing 4 times already, and I'm sure all the other people around me have complained about it, as well. Not once have I seen a maintenance person at the gate trying to fix the noise issue, nor have I gotten any kind of call from someone in the office to assure me that my sleepless nights will be remedied.

I'm moving out in a little over 5 weeks, and I can't wait to finally live in a place where the office staff and maintenance people pay attention to all the problems we residents have to deal with. This is the worst service I've ever gotten in an apartment community over my 10 years of apartment living, and I never should have signed up for a 2nd year. That'll teach me to stay around just because I don't want to move again so soon.
