I lived here for 2 years and it's pretty ok. It's not the best place-- sometimes it can be scary walking around alone at night in this part of Austin, but just stay inside.
Transportation to UT Austin is great-- the bus stop is right there, and the bus runs all throughout the day. It's about a 15-20 minute bus ride to campus.
THis is good for a college student looking to save a little money in a very expensive town.
