It's okay.

My husband and I moved to Arbor Pointe nearly five years ago, when it was still Oak Lodge.
It's true, the complex has gone downhill some. I do not like the new management much. They're not terrible, but they just do some things that piss me off. Mostly in concern to stupid notes left on everyone's door from time to time. I am also not appreciative of the monthly community newsletter, which my husband and I refer to as the "Pay Your Rent, B*tch!" newsletter. The office staff aren't rude exactly, but I don't particularly like them. One lady in particular seems very condescending. A couple others are nice.
We've never had a problem with maintence, but we rarely call them. About a month ago, our oven stopped working. They came out the day we called them. The heating element was broken, so they had to get a new one; our oven was fixed within two days.
Before moved in, our apartment had been infested with roaches. They sprayed twice before we moved in, and had plans to spray again, but we didn't find it necessary. Through our own efforts, we rid the apartment of roaches, and haven't had a problem with roaches, or ants, ever since. We see a lone bug from time to time, but I think that is to be expected.
The property is host to racoons and a possum or two. We live right next to the stream (Building 8) so I will often see racoons scurrying from the dumpsters at night. I personally like racoons, so it doesn't bother me. I don't hear them at all. I've never seen a rat on the property.
I have never felt unsafe at Arbor Pointe. We live on the top story, and our door is metal. There have been numerous car break-ins, and more recently, an apartment break-in. The car break-ins have slowed down considerably. A few years ago it seemed there was one at least once a week. Someone tried to break into our car, but they couldn't, for whatever reason. Later, someone stole a wheel. But, as I said before, the situation has improved.
So yeah, it's not a luxury apartment home. Nor is it in the best of neighborhoods. But for the price, it's not bad. I would recommend Arbor Pointe to students, and to people who don't have a lot of money to throw around.
But really, the "new" name SUCKS. I hate it. With a passion.
