... and overall this place is on the nice end of mediocre. My apartment was the first to be remodeled with laminate floors, new appliances, ceramic tile (kitchenette and bath), and trim. The 3/4 size fridge and small pantry are annoying if you tend to shop in bulk, but the apartment is only about 425 sq feet, so it's "small" living anyway. The last of the sketchy tenants was gone by last October or so, and everyone I've come across is quiet and friendly. Roscoe Properties is buying more properties (they already own 4-5) in the area and they do a really fair job of maintaining and responding to calls. Robyn, one of the main property managers, doesn't take or give any crap. She's straight-up and honest, and was especially friendly to work with after moving five times last year and dealing with slum lords.

There's plenty of parking and a big, well-kept (not landscaped, though) grass lot for bocce ball, tai chi, or whatever you're into. The laundry machines are a little pricey for their age and wear ($1.25/$1), but maintenance/upkeep on those is outsourced, so I don't foresee new machines anytime soon.

Some random things I really like: they're diligent about replacing air filters, didn't throw a fit when I installed my own programmable thermostat, were happy to replace old outlets with GFCIs near the sinks when I requested and install anti-mold panels under the sinks.

Some random things I don't like: the drywall/texture looks nice, but is thin and crappy, hanging shelves and such can be a pain since the studs aren't on predictable (or sensible) centers, the heating system doesn't function quite correctly- the thermostat clicks but the fan doesn't come on when it needs to heat, though the AC works perfectly.

There are security cameras watching parts of the parking lot, but my old work truck was stolen not long after I moved here, and I'm not sure the cameras are actually working.
