When I moved into the Argosy I knew I was getting a deal. $820 for a two bedroom, 2 bath. The location is right off Lamar, just south of 183. Far enough away to stay quiet, but close enough for easy commuting. Something of an Ant problem at first but it faded with time. The aprtment itself has a few air flow issues with one bedroom being an average of 5 or 6 degrees off of the other no matter how we configured the vents. Nice grounds, good neighbors, quick fixes. The office staff was nice and the pool was typically clean. My only real problem is the lack of concern for loyalty. I wanted to stay, but they wanted to raise the rent 15%. It would have raised it to fair market price I am sure, but their timing was off. They researched prices at the height of the tech boom, then wanted to raise prices when thousands were getting laid off. Their opportunity had past and they wouldn't come down any for a renewal tennant. So while it was a great place, due to the tech turn, I was actually able to find nicer places coming down on rent to fill space, but this was largely a timing issue. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a place far enough away from campus (young professionals) but close enough to town to still easily go out. Pet Friendly, washer dryer hook-ups and free security alarm. Fireplaces and good bathrooms and plenty of closet shelving.
