Hello again. I wrote the review a few entries before this one stating that I thought the place was decent overall. Desregard ALL of that!!! This summer was one of the worst of my life thanks entirely to the Argosy Apartment management (I should just say manager). The manager manager that is never at the complex, is the hugest ----- EVER!!! Let me take you back a year to when I first moved in. The staff seemed to be friendly, and why shouldn't they be, the amount they charge for rent is scandelous. The "assistant" manager did a walk through of the apartment with me. She was very helpful writing down everything that was wrong, telling me that I would definately not be charged for any of it because of it's poor condition upon move in. It was mainly the flooring. The carpet was digusting! Rips, tears, huge grease stains, section worn down so much that it was flat, the kitchen vinyl was torn in numerous places and was coming up from the floor in all the corners (and it was obviously a good 20 years old). But I digress, at this point everything was going well. About a month later, the assistant manager that was soo helpful quit. but oh well, I could live with it as long as they knew I was not responsible. Well silly me, come June, after I move out, I get a letter in the mail telling me that I would not be revieving any of my $250 deposit back AND I owed them $200 for repairs!!! Needless to say I was speechless and outraged. I thought to myself that surely this was a mistake. So I gain my composure and call the complex. Of course, the manager is NOT there. So I leave a message. She was apartently going to call me right back. Three days later, no call, so I call back. She is not there, I leave another message, and I am told she will call me back that day. No Call. So I call back the next day. The ditz in the office tells me that the manager has just left for the post office but will be back in 15 minutes. I said to have her call me. An hour goes by. No call. I call back. The ditz tells me that manager is busy right now. So I said I would wait on the line. And then magically she was available. The first thing the manager says to me is that SHE is very busy and doesn't appreciate being nagged. This was said basically in a yelling tone. So I tell her what the problem is. She is still yelling at me and teking these really loud sighs. I then tell her that I would be calling the BBB as soon as I got off the phone (which I did) and she all of a sudden got real nice. When I told her to get the sheet the manager filled out upon my move in, she told me that they didn't have any sheet like that in my record. And then she told me that If any of my problems upon move in were true, I should have reported them to the management upon move in. Silly me, I thought that the manager putting in writing and telling me to my face that I would not be charged for that would be proof enough. Long story not so short, I refused to pay the charges and STRONGLY recommend you NEVER EVER EVER!!! live here.
