I moved here only because my roommate would not compromise at all on location. The rent was high when I initially moved in 2 years ago and it is unreasonably high now. There are only two amenities in this complex. One is is the pool, which is constantly filled with water volleyball teams. From 2pm-10pm every day at our apartment, every day of the week, if you even tried to open up our poolside balcony, you get accosted with the sounds of grown men slamming a volleyball at eachother and screaming "WHO'S THE MAN!!!!" So annoying. Argosy actually has a water volleyball team with their own acronym, so as far as I can tell, they are encouraging this behavior instead of reprimanding it. The other amenity is the hot tub, but it is constantly out of order or lukewarm.

The staff was reasonable when I moved out, I had some charges but they charged me less than I thought they would. The staff is fairly nice in general, some more than others. The grounds are clean. Meh.

I now live down south where for $150 less a month I have a quieter and slightly larger apartment with a gym (cardio machines and dumbells) and business center. The new apartment is also in a safer location near Oak Hill. The Argosy borders both the charming little Crestview neighborhood and the seedy Highland Mall neighborhood. There are crack hotels down the street on North Lamar and homeless people begging for change and stealing carts from the Walmart adjacent to the complex. I would have felt uncomfortable about that had I owned anything expensive enough to try to steal.

Maybe it will be worth it when they finally finish building that train station, but for right now, this complex doesn't offer anything for the price. If you look for even an afternoon, you can easily find a similar place for much less rent or a similarly priced complex with all sorts of cool amenities.

This lady sounds like "tons" of fun...I could never imagine her posting a negative review of a place that she ADMITTEDLY never wanted to move into the 1st place at the very beginning of her post...I will never understand expecting a quiet environment living by the pool at an apt complex...It is a given and should be applauded that there is life going on w/ kids playing, people socializing, and games happening...

Wow, that was uh... an overly personal attack and not called for. I guess if I was in a frat or something I would love this place, but I'm not. I never complained or tried to shut the thing down, I'm just saying I noticed it every time I came home. I didn't give it a bad rating because of the pool or the noise. I'm giving it a bad rating because it is entirely too expensive. That is 95% of it. Knock the price down and my rating would go up. Also, the insulation in this place sucked. Cold all winter, sweating all summer.
