Wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy

Years at this apartment: 2001 - 2004
I lived here for 3 years starting in 2001 - moved to Austin from out of state and had only a weekend trip to find a place. Seemed ok in the beginning, but it quickly started on a downward spiral. By the time I moved out a few months ago, it had gotten to the point where I was reluctant to walk around the parking lot after dark. Shady-looking people loiter outside all around the property constantly (especially on weekend), and those that aren't drinking beer in the parking lot are drinking and staring from their balconies. There are huge families living in one-bedroom apartments, and kids are always running amuck. People from the neighboring complexes break through the fence in the back to go in the rear pool (usually fully-clothed) on almost a daily basis. The license plate was stolen off my car, and the lights in the carport are often out. The laundry room is so filthy it's horrific - always felt like my clothes were dirtier after being washed. The cops are always on the premises - in fact, I once watched a full-on police chase with multiple cars, dogs and a helicopter that ended right outside my bedroom window. Management has actually started passing out flyers that are only written in Spanish. If you feel like going to a Mexican border town without a passport, head here.
