this place is deteriorating fast---DON'T MOVE HERE!!!!

I've only been living here for almost 8 months and am ready to move out. We paid the leasing office $2000 just to pay off our lease to move out. Besides all of the crime happening almost every night, the staff of the leasing office is a ----- to deal with. First off there is Nelly, who looks down upon everyone and cannot be trusted to save a life. We have been trying to get into a new apartment and in return had to deal with this -----. Due to them not faxing valuable information to the other apartment complex in a timely manner, we were forced to go handle the situation ourselves. In front of our faces she called the other apartment complex and hung up on their staff (we could here them answer the phone) and said that no one answered (her way of "helping" us move) WE HAD BEEN TALKING TO THEM ALL DAY AND WERE ALWAYS ABLE TO GET AHOLD OF THEM. We made her call them back and put it on speaker phone and to her amazment (she needs a grammy for that acting job) they answered the phone. We contacted the other apartment complex when we got home and they said that she hung up on them. Then there is the manager, Pat, who candy-coats EVERYTHING that happens here--even the 4 hour stand-off they had RIGHT OUTSIDE OUR DOOR (there is more about this towards the bottom!!) She said it was nothing but when the SWAT team and snipers are out, it's more than nothing. She also makes promises to help fix problems and does not follow through on them. We understand that we are not the only ones here but we are not the only ones complaining about the same stuff. All in all the staff treats us like ----. I wish Ryan was still here-he actually respected the residents!!! This place is ghetto and is getting worse but management is doing NOTHING to rememdy the problem because they don't live here and THEY DON'T CARE!!!!

And to top it off the apartment complex next to us, Santa Maria, is THE GHETTO OF ALL GHETTOS. They chisel away at our fences to get into our complex to use our pools (this isn't a gated community--they can't walk through the entrance'') But that's not the point, they dont' even live here so they shouldn't be here. All of them are here to cause problems and scare the residents. Cops have admitted to having severe problems with that complex and I've talked to my single elderly neighbor that she has caught people casing her apartment that are waiting for her to leave so they can do God knows what. And parking here is IMPOSSIBLE at night. There are tons of people parking in fire lanes because they don't want to park next to Santa Maria or down on the other side of the complex in which they run the risk of being mugged. The GHETTO ASS people that live here show no respect for the disabled and park their ENTIRE cars up on the handicap ramps so that you cannot even get your body, let along a wheelchair, through.

This place is a living hell hole and is getting worse by the month. We are scared to even leave our apartment at night and put our tv on mute every time we hear sirens to see if they are coming here (because most of the time they are and 99% of the time it is OUR BUILDING) If you do decide to live here stay THE ---- AWAY FROM BUILDING 3. The police even admit that it is the worst building. They come out here so much that they know who we are. There's nothing like opening your door one night to see a police officer hunched down in front of your door with his gun drawn because one of our neighbor's was going nuts. We were upstairs eating popcorn watching the whole thing from our window praying that he didn't have a gun. Nothing like watching a live episode of COPS outside your window. Then, during that same episode, a few Mexican men went running out of their apartment saying that people were coming in through their window. Come to find out it was snipers---they needed through their apartment to get a good angle at the crazy guy. Poor --------, they probably thought they were being deported (even the cops said that!!!)

The maintenance men don't speak English except Al, who is kick ass and is the ONLY ONE who knows what the hell he's doing.

If you want to take a shower, tell the ENTIRE apartment complex to not flush the toilet or turn on their faucets. The water will change from warm to scolding to freezing in the matter of a millisecond because someone on the other side of the complex flushed their toilet ( and i'm NOT exaggerating!!). The kitchen sink is probably a better place for the shower because the water pressure is so high that you'll get soaked from the splash (the water pressure in the shower is horrible and it takes many turns of the nob just to get a drop of water out).

And if you want to singe your eyebrows, turn on your stove!!! The stoves are gas so it has to light properly for it to work. But here at wonderful Austin Parke Apartments, the fire takes a while to come on and in the mean time the gas builds so when the fire actually catches up to the gas a fire ball is emmited and you will get singed (and I have been). Funny how you mention this to the leasing office and they have enough nerve to ask us if we know how to use it properly''''' I'm a college graduate from the University of Texas at Austin, I KNOW HOW TO USE A ------- STOVE!!!

AND THEN there's the dishwasher, which took them a month to fix--and it's still not perfect but it gets MOST of the dishes clean now. To add injury to insult, Pat--our lovely office manager--told us to wash our dishes before we put them in there. There are two things wrong with this. 1) the whole purpose of a dishwasher is for it wash the dishes for us 2) THE DISHWASHER GOT THE CLEAN DISHES DIRTY!!! (we tested it ourselves)

Now we are worried for our health because of the onset of mold. Their "emergency maintenance" failed to 1) stop the water leak in our neighbor's apartment 2) fix our soaked carpet properly. We are still waiting for them to fix it, and of course they are going the cheap route by only cleaning the pad to the carpet and leaving us with the probably now mold infested carpet. They gave us a humidifier that everytime it turns on makes our lights go off for a second. I'm not sure what that means but chances are it's not good. God forbid we have an electrical fire added on to all of the other crap we have had to deal with.

And then one time a kid got hit by a car while he was on his bike. We're not really sure what happend: the guy either backed into the kid or the kid ran into the guy. Either way you have to watch for flying kids and rampant drivers. Speed bumps don't deter speeders and kids are out late at night and they don't watch for traffic.

All in all this place is not even worth thinking about. The Health Department has been called and hopefully 7 on your side will feature it. Places like this should be illegal to stay in operation. Funny how most of the problems stem from the leasing office and much they don't care about the residents here. They don't have to live in this ghetto so why should they care.
