This place is going downhill, fast. They are starting to rent to anybody and everybody. The Mex**** gang bangers are taking over. I moved because I was scared. The great reviews are laughable. Really, who's going to take the time to write all that, post pictures, and reply to other reviews. This is what the management do.

Ummm.... obviously you didn't live in the same apartments I did, unless it has gone downhill in the past few months. My husband, who is in to photography, took those pictures one night testing out his camera. I never saw any "gang bangers", nor was I ever scared. I wrote a long review simply because I appreciate other people writing them when I moved away. Perhaps you're from the competing apartments across the street, trying to get people to look there instead. Had we not moved to Dallas, we would still be in the apartments, going on 3 years. Perhaps you saw something I didn't. Brad and Christy tried hard to work out any thing we had complaints about, and the only bad thing I remember is that people didn't pick up their dog poop, but that happens at any complex. Good luck being pleased anywhere if Austin Trail didn't fit your bill, it was one of the best places I have lived in Austin.

I think this guy is a total intellectually deficient moron who lacks any form of education. Sounds like a loser making minimum wage at the nearby Wal-Mart. I take great offense at the comment being an educated, Hispanic female who is working on two Master's degrees, and managing a very successful multi-million dollar business. I come from a wealthy family, West Lake Hills if you ever heard of it (it's the rich area in Austin) and prior to moving into Austin Trail Apartments back in June of 2005, my mother took a detailed tour of the property and thought it was lovely. I am in my early twenties, so although I could afford something a bit more expensive, I absolutely adore it here. If you haven't noticed, half of the community drives a Mercedes Benz, a Volvo, a BMW, and of course there are several Lexus luxury sedans. The community is very safe and I know this personally because I left a job in law enforcement back in July of this year, and would often refer to the APD crime reports linked to apartment communities, and Austin Trail is very safe! I think the person who wrote this review was a tenant who either got kicked out for not paying their rent, or a jealous troll in one of the competing apartment communities near by. I give this apartment 5 stars! The management team is awesome, I absolutely love the maintenance team, and the grounds are kept beautifully. Everytime I look around the complex, I see professional people, expensive cars, and well, I guess I am the only Mexican chick in this place -- and I am definitely no gang-banger, but rather a well-educated, well-off twenty-something who drives one of the more expensive cars in the lot and too come from a highly-respected family in West Austin and I think that several of the tenants fit this mold. Don't listen to this racist, bigot, moron, he/she needs to get a life, seriously!

To the above poster, I appreciate you trying to defend the complex. I love it here too. But I found your comment "Sounds like a loser making minimum wage at the nearby Wal-Mart" extremely offensive. You come across as arrogant, elitist, and conceited - in my opinion no better than the original poster. Obviously the original poster doesn't live at this complex. The only person I've ever seen here who even resembles a "gang banger" is my neighbor's boyfriend, who doesn't even live here. And there's no way anyone could rate this complex "Poor" in all seven categories. Anyone simply driving past the complex can tell that it's beautiful. And for the record - I'm also in my early twenties and drive a luxury car. But I wasn't raised rich (a la Westlake), I worked hard for everything that I have. To the original poster, go visit San Antonio, Dallas, or Houston to see what a real "gang banger" looks like. And to the elite twenty-something girl, try actually meeting someone who earns minimum wage, you might be surprised. Btw no one earning $5.85/hour could live here, the small one bedrooms start at $655/month.

Y'all are hilarious. Three replies within a day...but y'all aren't management. Please.

In response to the third poster: I was trying to establish that all walks of life live here at Austin Trail, even wealthier walks of life to refute the original poster's comments of "gang-bangers". Like you, I too have worked hard all of my life, having worked and made minimum wage at the age 16 while attending Westlake High, so I understand what hard work means. My parents never gave money to any of us, however, made it clear that our education is everything. Two master's degress - duh! If that isn't hard work, I don't know what is. Do you get what I am trying to say here (in my second post) or are you really that dense? I was being obnoxious to prove the point that the original poster resembles bigot trailer trash, and that is why I made the Wal-Mart comment. If you are so pro Wal-Mart, I challenge you to visit the third world country sweat shops that employ beautiful brown-skinned children in these terrible working conditions. And to think you take "offense" at my comments?!? I don't shop there because it supports illegal child labor, while refusing prospective health-care benefits to its employees. I do a lot of charitable work in the Catholic Church, like making sack-lunches for the homeless, so I do have a big heart, but probably should not have made those original comments about Wal-Mart since I probably "sinned". Like, oh my God! How am I am arrogant and conceited when in turn you also have to throw in that you drive a luxury car, etc., then judging me by alluding that I am "spoiled". The reason why I incorporated those comments is to establish that AT has good people who come from respected families in the area to discredit the moron who made that post, I do think you are truly dense if you couldn't see that. I just left a scenario of working two jobs (one in law enforcement - not easy), and being in Grad School simultaneously. Have you ever juggled a 100 hour work schedule and full-time Grad School? Doubt it. I don't think many of the people who live here have completed college, no offense. When you work hard academically, by default you assume more of an elitist attitude (academically) with regard to education. I'm paying my way through Grad School, too, which is very difficult. Are you college educated? Working hard is something to be proud of, but working hard professionally and going to school simultaneously is something that is far more difficult. I think the original poster resembles one of my former professors who used to reside here, but was forced to move out on his own due to personal reasons. Or, maybe the original poster is right, maybe all of these good reviews/responses are written by the management team. Who knows. I meant well by my second post, so I am sorry that I deeply offended the third poster. May peace with you.

Wow, I was considering living here, but I'm questioning it now. It's not because I believe the first poster, or because I think the management is on here trying to persuade me to move here, but it is because I worry that I may be surrounded by crazy people. I'm sure you all work very hard for what you have, the only people who don't work hard are the people who have nothing, well, that's a shabby generalization, but you understand what I mean. But if you are on here, as I am, that means you've got some free time to comment on whether or not you like the place where you live. So stop bragging about yourself and just tell me what you like or dislike about the damned appartment, this isn't a political freakin' forum people. Thank you.

The last poster on 9/21 is probably the original poster who wrote the first comment and takes great offense at the rebuttle. Ever heard of people who have "office jobs" who browse the internet during down-time? Or, college students who like a good online debate between research papers? Maybe the original poster and last poster (same person) should join the military and serve their country or pursue a higher education instead of creating generalizations about those they don't know. It is obvious that the people who attacked the first person are educated based on their responses. Crazy people aren't articulate and "elitist", they are just smart and educated and are proud of their academic achievements. Sad how the original poster, and last poster on 9/21/07 have "multiple-personality disorder" as they are the same poster. Get a life, oh and for the record (regarding "free time") -- my professional job consists of me to perform research both in the field and on the web. But then again, you create generalizations about those you have never met. Besides, the poster on 9/21/07 admits they have a lot of "free time" so by default and based on their own assessment, that makes them a loser. Right? I am, however, humbled that by the passionate responses of well-educated people. Shows that the community is comprised of accomplished, educated individuals, with a hint of class. This is a great, friendly community. Love it here, and would recommend this place to everyone.

it's crazy because one of my good neighbors who i've know for a year told me that she loves it here which prompted me to ask her about some of these reviews about gangbangers. She said she thinks the guy behind it was some college instructor who use to live here, but impregnated his girlfriend out of wedlock and he had to go move in with her and marry her. that is why he is writing such nonsense because he is a miserable human being. she also said she witnessed him once writing a bad review about another complex using her work computer at her office when he use to stalk her at her place of employment on the weekends. he is probably the troll behind all of these posts re: gangbangers. just like my friend, i think this is a great place. management rocks by the way and everything gets fixed around here. awesome staff, great environment. go at!

For all of you who came here to flame the initial post .... I don't live at this apartment complex; however, I live right across the freeway from Austin Trails at Archstone Apartments. It is apparent that there are many "thuggish/gang-like" people now moving into this area (you can easily tell by the attire being worn ... this is simple "Inner-City 101" material). There's no need to pull out any "Race Cards" here - We're merely going off the facts (I.E. what we see with our own two eyes). Right? I digress ... Here at Archstone, many people's car windows have and being busted out(you can see shattered glass in various places throughout the apartment complex ... come on over sometime and check it out for yourself). If it's happening over here on this side of the freeway ... I can guarantee you it won't be long before Austin Trails goes up in smoke as well. All you Austin idiots out there need to wake the fvck up! How do I know this? - I've lived in several inner-cities including Houston, Miami, and Denver. Originally, I'm from the Bellaire area with family/friends in the West University and River Oaks areas in Houston - one of the oldest and most prominent areas within the city. Note that this has nothing to do with money as I'm trying to prove a point. For many years, these areas were a great place to live; however, the inner-city gangs eventually took over the area (just witnessed a shoot-out the last time I was in the Bellaire area) ... Yes, this does really happen .... for real .... Austin, much like younger Houston, is becoming just another replica of many cities across the nation ... believe it or not. FYI - I value my life and don't take "security issues" lightly - This is serious ----. By the way, I'll be more than happy to show any of you pictures that I recently took of the "Essays" walking around the Archstone Apartments parking lot near the fitness center. The Essays happen to be one of the worst gangs in the city right now ... go Google it. Note that I've had to call the police numerous times in the last month simply because the gangs were walking around people's cars trying to break the windows to steal things. It's quite scary to think that all a person must say to to a Police Officer (when giving a description of the suspicious characters) is "... there are people wearing "white t-shirts." For those of you who don't believe this ... go Google "gangs" and "essays"! ... there's plenty of articles on the Web that explain this. And YES ... Gangs do exist in America. I definitely recommend leaving this area ASAP. Anyways .... There's not a whole lot one can do about the increasing amount of crime and thug-like people moving into the area, other than move away from it. It's only going to get worse around here. O well ... it is what it is. -my 2 cents
