Austin Trail is an amazing complex. It has been the best experience I've had with living in an apartment. The management is truly amazing. Any issues are taken care of IMMEDIATELY! It's worth the price in that aspect.
Although Austin Trail is a great complex, I'm a bit concerned. Not only has the rent jumped up 100 bucks more a month, but the water bill has jumped up to 20 dollars more in the last year. This is mostly due to the sewer charges. According to the bill, the complex "pays for a portion to cover common area usage", then the residents pay the remainder. Can you guys help us out a little''
I wish the complex wasn't making poor decisions on renovations. We really didn't need new appliances and new counter tops. They were in great shape and it's depressing to see these perfect cabinets being ripped out and tossed away. It's such a waste of money for the complex. The new basketball and volleyball court is nice...but it seemed like the old sand volleyball court was used more. Be more careful with your financial decisions! I know there is some old gym equipment that could have been replaced! Why didn't we put the money towards that'
I know all these changes are to keep up with the surrounding complexes, but really, we didn't move to those other apartments FOR A REASON. We liked how the management was friendly, and the prices were reasonable.
Other than the high rent and high bills, if you can spare the cash, it's a great complex!

I agree with your post. I just got home from a night on the town and checked my e-mail to see that a new post was generated. I love the complex, too. The management and maintenance is stellar and unmatched. Rates are jumping up, and while I can afford it, I found it dishonest on management's part when one of the managers insisted by saying, "Rates will only go up $10.00 since we are at our cap." Try over $100.00, not $10.00...big difference. What a lie. When I asked about it, he got defensive. I can still easily afford the new rate...but for the new prices...I am better off spending a few hundred dollars more and buying my first home, or moving to an elegant apartment downtown which is closer to work and will save me a lot of gas. I just hope that the hike in prices weeds out the riff/raff.
