Before I begin, I want to assert that I am a happy tenant writing this review and not the management staff. I have lived in building four for close to four years and have had a wonderful, seamless experience on multiple levels. I moved into a beautiful, spacious one bedroom in June of 2005 and have yet to find an apartment with the square footage, privacy and location for the affordable price. As an educated professional (aspiring college professor), I have always desried a place that is safe, friendly, professional, and welcoming - Austin Trail Apartments offers this!
Brad, Christy, and Manuel have all been super professional in assisting me with my concerns, requests and questions. Manuel, who is the maintenance professional always tends to minor maintenance requests within the hour AND he even helped me install a chandelier in my bedroom! I couldn't ask for better service. Christy and Brad always greet me with a smile....and I guess it is because they treat polite, respectable, and professional tenants accordingly. If you are polite to the management and try not to cause any issues, they too, will treat you the way you treat them. I've never had a bad experience with the management and feel that they have always been professional with me. I am strongly considering renewing my lease since I have had such a great experience with both the management and my happiness in my particular unit. Yes, it is noisy at times and there are the occassional creepers, but that is the price I pay for living in an apartment community.
My only complaint relates to some "interesting" neighbors. I have had men (and one particular Latino fellow) knock on my door at four in the morning in a drunken state, requesting to spend the night with me. That did not go well with me as one could imagine and I reported the incident to management. The situation happened again just a few nights ago, but I let it go. I have worked in the law enforcement profession for over four years, so I can protect myself with my firearms collection should someone break into my unit, but at the same time I feel that the early morning harassment is really creepy when this takes place twice in the same year. Also, the neighbor above me, a young kid in his early twenties, stomps too loud at all hours of the day. It's annoying, but I understand that the stomping is all part of living in an apartment community. I've grown accustomed to his stomping and when I don't hear him stomp, I almost feel compelled to see if he is okay. It's sort of cute!
As far as the quality of the apartments, they remodeled several of the units with wood-like floor and granite countertops! The new units are simply beautiful! I told Brad that I am looking for a second unit for my office space so that I can see my clients, grade papers and handle business since the the new units are so gorgeous! I am too partial to my "older" unit since it has a very "light" look to it and is very girly, however, the newly remodeled units are a must see!
I love this place. The management sent me paperwork to renew my lease since I've been a model tenant, causing no problems, no drama....just a girl with a smile on her face who only raises concern when there is a legit problem (like the stalker neighbor). I love the management and the maintenance team! The units are gorgeous and affordable...so I'd definitely recommend this place!
