The maintenance person left my airconditioner on for one month

I handed in my check list when I first moved in and a leasing staff member said a maintenance person will come to fix light bulbs later. Because I need to leave Austin that afternoon for the following month, and I forsaw the possibility that the maintenance person will use the airconditioner, I turned off the airconditioner before I left and left a note on the airconditioner switch telling him that he is welcome to use the airconditioner but he needs to turned it off. One month later when I came back, I found the airconditioner was on and I got a very expensive electricity bill....The note disappeared....
I complained to the leasing office but the manager directly rejected my request for reimbursement. She told me that all the maintenance personnel are honest and none of them told her that they would ever touch resident airconditioners when they were working in apartments...... qmzu4EHcaGAPVCPw2Fai
