I moved out over 6 months ago and still haven't received my security deposit back for no good reason. They actually tried to charge me a month's rent after I had moved out and turned in the key. I am working with a lawyer right now....

The bills are outrageous. I got a $140 water bill. I can see that kind of bill if I lived in one of those apartments that has 10 illegals in it, but I'm on my own...WTF!!!! I hate this apartment complex.

Where do I start. Do you people ever read a residential lease contract? The reason they want to charge you an extra month's rent is because you're too incompetent to give them proper notice on your move out date. Also, there is not an apartment community out there that will guarantee a utility bill will be no higher than a certain amount. Also, regarding what sherrieak posted, if you don't know how to spell "absurd" I'm sure you don't know how to read a lease contract. It's still no excuse. Get a life. All of you.

Are you kidding me? You must work in the apartment office. The last thing I am is incompetent. I gave notice but they still tried to charge me rent after I had already moved out and turned in the key. They are the ones who are incompetent. Talk about getting a life....if you are on this site to insult people rather to help others who might be making a huge mistake, then you are the one that needs to get a life! Also, I had a lawyer review the lease and obviously, no where in there, does it say that it's legal or appropriate to charge someone who has given notice and moves out on their designated date after having settled up on all charges, another month's rent and hold their security deposit when the move out statement states no charges for any damages or such. It seems that there must be quite a few "incompetent" people who live or have lived in this complex considering that a plethora of former residents have posted stating that they too never received their security deposit back and considering the overall rating for this place is 28%!

Have you ever lived in an apt complex before. A little hastle over deposits is pretty much to be expected. Get a life, deal with it and get over it. All you really need to do is write a letter to management and all will be taken care of in most cases, unless you left the apt trashed or didnt give proper written notice.
