We have lived at Balcones Club for two years and we are not renewing our lease because of several things that have happend.
1.When we first decided to move here, my husband was shown an apartment at the front of the complex that had a big tree in front on it, and we wanted the apt. because of the big tree. Well, when we came to sign the lease, they had already leased that apartment to someone else. (supposedly to some friends) We had to get another one.
2.We were told if we renewed our lease, we would get new carpet. It never happened.
3. and worst of all. A black car was parked in front of our door for about 4 months this summer. I asked and asked for it to be moved and no one in the office would do anything about it. I even called the police dept.and the officer told me the couldn't do anything about it because it was on private property. One of the reasons we wanted this apt.was so we could park in front of our door and walk right in.The car stayed in front so long it became dusty and dirty and had leaves on it. I was so frustrated and wanted it moved so bad. So did my husband. I even took pictures of it. The office people finally put an orange sticker on it, that it had to be moved within a certain time, and they finally moved it about 4 or 41/2 months. We both were unhappy with what happened.

I agree. You had to walk a couple of extra steps to get to your front door? You didn't have a complex with a big tree outside? Waaaaah!

I'm experiencing the same problem right now at this complex. Parking is awful and anyone can park anywhere, whether resident or guest. There is a car that's been parked in front of my apartment for the last four months. The car is obviously ignored and abandoned: holes in the body, flat tire, windows open (they haven't been closed over the last four months and I'm certain there's water damage in the car from the rain over the last few weeks). I don't think it's necessarily a problem, but when the management has ignored three requests from residents to do something about this eyesore (it's not about the parking, it's about the atmosphere of the living envirnoment, and if you're too dumb to 'read between the lines', austingurl, you should go back and take your TAKS for English Language again), then it obviously IS a problem with the management. I must say that it is the only grievance I have with the management. They have handled everything I've asked them to over the last few months since I've moved in. Maintenence is prompt and handles everything appropriately. If it wasn't for my husband-to-be's job placement in Colorado Springs from July, I might consider renewing, but Austin's seeing the backside of us! Woo hoo! |

this still makes me laugh. took pictures of what? the dirty car? please! have ANY of you had any real problems here? management ignoring requests about abandoned or unslightly cars is so silly! have any of you ever had a flood or a leak? what about the toilet leaking under the carpet? or better yet what about rat infestation? boohooing about a rusted out car is a joke! complain to your managament about REAL problems. if you really want to do something about it try READING your lease to find out WHAT IS a violation. you all make me laugh your complaining is so ridiculous.
