It's been going downhill - new owners, maintenance will hopefully improve

I've lived here for about 2 1/2 years, and the place has been slowly deteriorating.

There is a new manager as of a few months ago, and they seem to have gotten rid of the worthless maintenance staff (ex.

they thought spraying a single coat of primer "fixed" moldy waterlogged sheet rock, and their solution to a building rat infestation was leaving a couple of glue traps and calling it a day).

I haven't found anywhere else that offers as much space for the price in a good area, but that's the only thing this place has going for it.

I'm hopeful that the new management and maintenance will improve things, but the new manager was here for the last round of rats in my apartment and seemed concerned but didn't do anything about it.

One last note on that front, they will charge you a pest control fee to have Worldwide Pest Control handle pest complaints, but it is a total rip off - we'd be better off employing a kid with a can of raid.

It could be a really nice place - 90% brick exteriors, spacious floor plans, next to a golf course and nice neighborhood - it's a shame the people running the place have either been lazy or inept.

I would not recommend this place and cannot wait to move out (and I hate moving just about more than anything).

Does anyone know who the management company IS now because there has been NO indication of who they are other than that mysterious note the residents got on their door in the late hours of the afternoon. It is cowardly how this change has taken place. To be hired the new staff is required to lie through their teeth while keeping a straight face. This place stinks not just because of the rats, the dog poo, or the moldy rotted wood but the stench OF all the residents now using raid. Yellow jackets, ants, and goodness only knows what are lurking. Look out for that kid with the raid. He does exsist and is on the payroll.

That's an outstanding point about the new management company. "Equity Residential has sold Balcones Club Apartments to M & A." What the hell is "M & A?" Is it M&A Holdings, M&A Apartments, M&A Residential, M&A Corporation? Not only was no contact information provided, but they didn't even give a full name of the company. I found maybe one reference on the internet to an "M&A" that deals with apartments, and it provided no more clues to who this mysterious entity is. On another note, I find it strange that one week after posting the above review, suddenly there's a note at my door saying that I have to move things to accommodate Worldwide Pest Control so they can treat for rodents in the building. Lisa, if you're reading this, I'll be speaking to you in the morning - I gave up on action being taken long ago since you did nothing after coming to your office everyday for a week several months ago. Still can't wait to move out (too little, waaaaaaaaay too late).

New management is horrible. They close before 5 and if you are there a few minutes later than 5 they just turn off the lights and walk away / ignore you and pretend you dont exist/especially the big lady with red hair. She is the laziest person I have seen. I have put in several requests to have work done and not one attempt to get anything done has been made. Once I am out of this lease.. I am gone! I think they need new management to take over.. cant get any worse. And those kids..they walk around all times of the night and look like little hoodlums ready to break into your car and apt.
