A fine apartment. Not the best, but not the worst.

Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2007
I have been living here for about 9 months and I have to say overall my experience has been decent.
The kitchen appliances are a bit old as well as the cabinetry, and I have some problems with the water heater. On the other hand, the apartment is very spacious - I have 1k square feet for under $750 a month.
I have three major complaints:
1. The apartment is so old that electrical outlets are crummy. Plugs do not stay in the socket, and the cable company informed me I could only have cable in one of the three rooms with an outlet because of the crappy wiring.
2. The management are very rude and inconsiderate. Often I will come in pay rent or ask for a maintenance request only to see Gracie and her other bitchy underlings taking a smoking break. They then have the audacity to look irritated with me for needing one of the three of them on break to come back inside to help me.
3. Last month my boyfriend and I had trouble with a mouse. We never reported it to the management because we were worried they might set an inhumane trap, so instead my boyfriend spent two hours to finally catch it. I read that other people had problems with rodents - it's probably one of those things that all complexes have, but when it happens to you it can be devastating. On the other hand, when I saw a roach in my dining room and reported it to management, the pest control came and sprayed and I have not seen a single insect since (knock on wood).
If you are looking for an apartment that is close to ACC and the Arboretum shopping/food for a good price, then you will be wise to rent from Balcones Woods. But if you are looking for something more upscale then you may want to look elsewhere.
