We moved into the Barrington for the location and price. Both of these were very good.

The building management was absolutely horrible and after talking with the woman in charge, I can safely say the problems started at the top. She was incredibly rude and condescending. Clearly, people unable to afford better accomodations deserved what they got. There were two girls who worked at the front desk who were excellent, but both left. The newer staff seemed less experienced, professional or helpful.

The cochroaches were indescribably bad. I would immidiately discount any review stating that they had not seen roaches, the buildings are crawling with them. Possibly because when tenants moved out, the apartments were not cleaned until a new renter had been found. When our neighbors were evicted, their trash rotted on the balcony for almost two months despite our complaints. I can only imagine what the inside of the apartment looked like.

Noise complaints were responded to professionally, but this is a loud complex.

The grounds were really pretty and I loved having a balcony. Maintenance was a problem in that they did not have nearly enough staff, but the staff they did have seemed compitent. There was a serious water issue with pipes bursting several times a year. At one point, we lost water for several days. It took months for us to get our deposit back, with many excuses about their head office, but we did eventually get it. I absolutely loved having a washer and dryer in the apartment!

Living here was alright. If I had to, I'd do it again, but if I could find a different complex in a similar location/price range I would definately go for that. Recommended' Well...no, but it wasn't the worst place I've lived. If management cared just a little more, it could've been really nice.
