Could be worse... I guess.

Well, this was my first place to live on the North side of town, and it's pretty mediocre. It's cheap, that's why I moved here for the most part. The buildings are old, which isn't a problem if they're kept up, but these need some love. Washer/Dryer is included, which is nice, but they're TINY and my washer is sketchy about actually spinning on the spin cycle.
I've had to report the same maintenance request on three separate occasions because they do a hack job of fixing it. The first time they ignored the request altogether. So a few days later I called them at 6p when I got home from work for an 'emergency request'. The guy came out in a few hours... at least he seemed cool. The second time, after it broke again, they still took a couple of days.
No real problems with bugs (knock on wood), but I keep my place clean which helps.
Neighbors are about what you'd expect I guess. About half are quiet, 9-5 working folks who are fine. A quarter are younger couples probably trying to get into something nicer. And the other quarter is 20 year old d-bags who attend the culinary school that must be nearby or ACC. They like to be loud, which I could care less about on the weekends, but we're talking about 8pm on a Tuesday... pretty annoying. People are always driving their loud, "hey check out how loud my car is", cars at lightning speed through the parking lot.. if I had kids I'd care more.
Speaking of cars, parking sucks, a lot. The spots are TINY. I drive a small car and can barely fit in the lines. I've given up on fighting door dings, it's going to happen in these spots, even when you park way out there. Then you have the assclowns who park sideways or just take up two spots b/c they're more important than everyone else. Not to mention there is always someone w/o a handicapped plate or placard in the HC spots. Awesome.
Oh, let's not forget about the covered parking. The spots aren't any bigger, but what's stupid is the process or acquiring a spot. I was told $15/mo. when I moved in, which I would've done... but wait. There's a 3 month or so wait, and when a spot is free, the price jumps to $40/mo. No thanks.
The office staff is pretty obnoxious. It's a crap shoot on which dumb broad you get when you walk in there. The office also recently changed the hours on the weekdays from 9-6 to 9-5:30. I don't know if they think everyone lives close to work or what, but if I need to get a package from the office or something, I'm forced to leave work early before they leave for the day, which is usually around 5:25p in reality.
If you can't afford anything better, I at least feel relatively safe here. Not usually many scumbag types hanging around.
Lease away.
