It's a pretty good place.

I've been here for 3 or 4 months now and it's been pretty good. I live the fact that it's so close to the Barton Creek Greenbelt. There's a creek that runs from BCL right down to the trails, but it's a pretty rocky climb so you can't bike it, but a pretty good hike for me and my dog.
There are more than enough parking spaces for everybody, but they're not very well spread out geographically. If you live in the back of the complex, you'll have your choice of empty spaces, but if you're in the front and you get home late at night, you're parking in the back.
The parking situation isn't helped by the fact that a lot of residents seem to be total morons about it. A lot of guys think they're entitled to park across two spaces, so that helps make the front end of the lot more crowded. Wouldn't mind so much if they did it in the back (well, except for the guy who used to park diagonally across 3 spaces... but I haven't seen him do that in a while). The flip side of that argument is that people don't seem to know how to open their car doors without hitting mine. I've gotten several new dings in the short time I've lived here.
Have also seen numerous cars parked in handicapped spaces when I didn't notice any tags allowing them. Maybe there's a special less visible permit than the ones I'm used to seeing, or maybe they're just parking illegally. If it's the latter, I'd like to see them towed.
I'm quite pleased with the noise levels in comparison to other places I've lived. I never hear the apartments nextdoor to mine, and rarely hear noise from outside. They have a lot of different floor plans though. Mine's the 2 story townhouse style, so there's nobody above or below me and may or may not be thicker walls between me and the neighbors. Can't speak for the other models.
Safety levels here are pretty good. Outside areas are well lit at night and the people are all decent.
The buildings could use a little work on the exterior. There are places where my siding is falling apart, etc.
The appliances in my unit are kind of old. The air conditioner is insanely noisy. Had some problems with the ice maker in my fridge leaking water into the tray (one giant block of ice wasn't really what I had in mind). The repair guy did something to slow it down but not fix it completely. When I complained a second time, he basically told me to just live with it.
They sent out a survey a while back asking if I'd be willing to pay a little extra in rent for energy saving appliances. Screw energy saving, I just want stuff that's newer and works a little better.
I tried paying my rent online and ran into some bugs in their website. When I talked to the girl in the office about it, she actually followed up and brought the problem to the attention of their IT department. I was kind of expecting her to just brush me off, so definitely glad she didn't. Every other interaction with staff has been friendly.
The only online payment system they offer currently charges you a $20 "convenience fee" for every payment, but they're rolling out a new one across all their properties that's not supposed to. It's not available yet at BCL though (and if you hit a certain use case, you end up not knowing about the other system, hence the bug above).
Oh, I forgot to mention the roads into and out of the place. With gas prices as high as they are now, it's worth mentioning. It's only accessible via the northbound lane of mopac, so you'll have to go about a mile and a half out of the way to make a U-turn if you're coming from the north. The nearest grocery store is about a 6 mile round trip.
I live close enough that I can ride my bike or run to work most days, so I don't really mind the distance all that much, but it can get to be a bit of a hassle.
