My husband and I were UT students and found this place downright awful but wanted to be on the bus line. We moved two doors down after our lease ended because of a year-long struggle with a constantly leaking air conditioning. After dealing with the annoying drips for a year while trying to prep for exams, maintenance which was beyond!! lazy finally orders a new air conditioning-AFTER WE MOVE OUT.

The second apartment was above the pool and so we had the noisy summers where kids who live miles away would literally show up and party all night. We called the police on many occasions about this and a lot of domestic violence disputes.

Crime was a big issue here. Our Honda Accord was broken into twice and we lost a CD player and a number of CD's.

Someone I talked to said she lived in an apt with a fireplace and dealt with dead birds that the maintenance staff didn't care about. It sounded crazy but when you see him day after day on the way home from school schmoozing in his truck to music and showing off his wheels, you know she's being honest.

Please stay away, the lure of bus lines and HEB within walking distance is not enough! Try the new Juniper Springs complex if you have to live in Far West!

Man.. maybe its just something about Honda Accords.. but I've had two within the 10 months I've been here at Bent Oaks, and BOTH have been broken into. Not very good odds if you ask me. But atleast after having my cars broken into 2 times, I know how to pop my own locks.. haha

I've never seen or heard of anyone getting their cars broken into here, that's very bizarre. I consider this area to be EXTREMELY safe; one day my cell phone fell out of my purse at the Far West stop and when I came back four hours later, it was still sitting there. It had been in plain view the whole time but no one took it. I also feel perfectly safe walking around here (I am female). I've lived somewhat near the pool for like, two years now and I've never seen or heard a single party like the one this person describes. About two times the entire time I've lived here other apartments have had loud parties (not at the pool), but that's about it.
