Where do I even start'
When we moved in with our 'checklist', there were so many problems, like our screen door not locking, holes in the screen, paint peeling, etc. Our carpet was stained and old looking (which is not good for a person who has allergies as bad as I do - i expected it to AT LEAST be cleaned thoroughly). Management promised to 'fix' any problems listed on the sheet, but never did... and now we're coming up to a year we have lived here.
My garbage disposal split the pipes apart underneath my sink and my kitchen and living room were flooded. It was a Saturday afternoon and I paged 'emergency' maintenace a handful of times, but no response. Any water running from the sink or dishwasher flooded through the pipes, so I had to have a sink of dirty dished and mopped up everything. The OFFICE WAS CLOSED ON SUNDAY! So i still couldn't talk to anyone - I paged the 'emergency' maintenance person again to fix this issue, and he finally came. The management apologized and told me that the maintenace person was at a party that evening and probably did not have access to a phone. WHAT'!'!
Nonetheless, this caused my so-called 'tile' to peel everywhere in the kitchen and left stains on my carpet - they never replaced the tile in the kitchen like they promised. And the particle board under the sink was rotted because of the water...not replaced. Okay, so you're thinking...issues like this happen in every apartment complex, right' I felt the same, until things got worse!
There's a crazy woman that lives upstairs that came and knocked on my door to have help moving her furniture because she was on section 8 housing and needed help clearing up the place - it was weird because she went in to detail about how she flushed her anti-psychotic medicine and ambulances came, and how she will probably lose her apt, etc- well THAT made me feel safe. I avoided her at any cost.
Speaking of ladies - I KNOW everyone has GOT to know about these TWO LADIES WHO WANDER the parking lot at ALL HOURS OF THE NIGHT! They're crazy! A ghostly tall lurking old woman with white hair and a hugely fat lady with brown hair. I have seen them banging on cars and doing strange things at all hours of the night. If you drive in to your complex, they stand in the driveway and stare at you while you go by. I mean, seriously---WTF'!
Theres also this crack-addict looking young girl who tried to force her way in to my neighbor's apartment after he told her that who she was looking for was not living at his apartment. She told him to 'be cool' and kept asking him 'what the big deal was' because she wanted to come in...
She also knocked on my door at 11:30 halloween night... for about 30 minutes. I refused to answer the door.
WEIRDOS!
Okay, enough people picking. Now-the washers!
There's only one facility to begin with, and it always seems that half the washers and dryers are broken. Well, the washers were not putting out hot water - it was freezing cold, i mean how can you wash your clothes sanitarily in something like that that hundreds of other people are using' The best part of it all - THEY RAISED THE WASH PRICE TO 1.25!!!! WHEN THEY WERE ALL BROKEN! What a joke! Most other complexes are less than 1 to wash/dry. There are always issues with the facility and it's pretty gross anyway.
Speaking of water, it has been turned off probably at LEAST 8 TIMES THIS MONTH! No notice whatsoever. That seems like a serious issue and it's really been makin me mad-it's always when i really need water. And it's not just for a few minutes, its hours on end!
You know, my experience here was OK at first, but the new management team is totally rude. When i sent in my termination of lease, they gave me an attitude and were like, 'omg, WHY are you moving THERE'!' I also came to the office to pick up a package and there was a screen pulled over the door and the 'clock' said "I'll be back at 3:15". It was about 3:50 and I could see the girl sitting at her desk. She stared at me for awhile before opening the door, and instead of saying "hello" or anything nice, she was like "I'm on lunch". What'!'! What happened to customer service, you rude a*s. I told her i needed to pick up a package and she got all pissy and gave it to me, not even giving me a moment to sign. She shut and locked the door and did whatever the heck she was doing...b/c there was no food or any paper on her desk, she was just sitting there.
They hired new people that have no respect for their renters and they are really driving me crazy. I really miss the old management team because they at least greeted you and tried to work with you to get things done. These people are just rude, inconsiderate and slobby.
There are also TONS of kids who just moved in about a month or so ago and ALWAYS play basketball/baseball right outside my window. There parents have no control over them and they shriek at the top of their lungs for hours a day. Doesn't really help for studying or taking a nap. They have kicked a soccer ball into my bedroom window and sliding glass door. I was furious when they kicked over TWO of my plants as well.
If your thinking about having kids, once you come here..it'll be all the birth control you'll need. They're AWFUL!
Anway, Just letting you know that my past year here started out okay, but has gone totally downhill.. I'm moving out in just a few weeks and I can't wait. This place has turned to a dump with weird people, annoying kids and broken, run-down appliances and machines. If you move in here, make sure you bake anything in your oven about half-time, or else it'll be burnt to a crisp.
I do NOT recommend this place to anyone, unless you enjoy the horrors i listed above, which really only highlights part of my stay.

I'm so so sorry you had to go through all that, and I'm not surprised since my air-conditioning leaked for one year. The oven thing is right on, mine cooked the edges of the brownies until they were burnt to a crisp, but the middle was stone cold and gooey! Overall, the place is a nightmare, looks like not much has changed since I moved in, in 2000.

i think i live just across the way from you right now and those kids are annoying as hell. thankfully i can go running somewhere far away at the same time when they're out. not to mention they want to raise their rates by 100 a month, or perhaps that's just a "special" deal for me. original poster, where are you moving to? is it better and cheaper than this place? |

I've never had any of the problems this person listed. The few times I've had to call maintenance they've always arrived in a timely manner (even since the apartments have been under the new management), I have no clue what old ladies she's talking about, I've never had strange people knock on the doors, and I've never heard anyone being noisy here. Maybe I just live in a different part of the complex, but it's really not that big... Also, the new management has been extremely nice to us, at least. One thing that is lame is yeah, they did raise the washer prices and there is almost always one or two washers or driers that don't work. This is out of eight washers, and like eight to ten driers (I forget). Yeah they're supposed to all work, but I've honestly never had a problem getting my laundry done. Also, as far as I know the complex has nothing to do with the washing room; it's contracted out to the washer and drier people. Every complex I've ever lived in has had the washers and driers break sometimes, it's just life. |

mochicrusader...Do you work for the apartment complex? Because for every negative review you go in and act like you live in Eden and everyone else is a liar. This post is pretty much dead on about the kind of things you can expect from the apartment complex; I couldn't get out fast enough. And as for the weird people, I actually had a man crawling on my balcony looking in my window at three in morning. I called the police, but by the time they arrived, he was long gone. There was also an old lady that would follow you around, even into your apartment, if you caught her eye. One time when my dad came to visit, she jumped into the passenger seat of his car when he was getting something out of the trunk. We finally had to ask her to go away. If you think there's no weirdos, you must be completely out of touch with your environment.
