So, it is really a shame that the only people who take the time to write these are those that are complaining. I have lived here for two years. And no, it wasn't all that great... but things are on the uphill now. The complex was just bought by a new owner who actually cares. They have already started renovations and improvements.
The new manager, she is amazing. She works harder than I have seen anyone work in quite some time. Not to mention the fact that she genuinely cares about the residents. She deals with so much, yet always has a smile on her face.
The maintenance staff used to include a very shady man, however he is gone now. The current maintenance team is fantastic. They are helpful, knowledgeable and timely. Any complaints are handled within 24 hours, and are handled correctly.
Overall, Bent Oaks used to not be the most fantastic place to live... but now, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else. Nice people, amazing manager, and fantastic maintenance are things I have yet to see anywhere else.
Plus, since the new owner purchased the property at the beginning of the year, I have heard only great things that they have planned. The renovations that are in store are so exciting.
The Far West bus stops here first, which is incredibly convenient. There is an HEB and CVS within walking distance. Not to mention the many other places that are as well: Blockbuster, El Arroyo, Austin's Pizza, Baja Fresh, Starbucks and Quiznos. I'm not sure what else you could need.
So if you are considering moving to the area, don't let a few angry people decide for you. Know that old problems have been remedied and come decide for yourself.
