MoPac and the train tracks are about a block and a half away. With the windows closed it's not ordinarily a problem, but you can't have the windows open because of the noise and the dust. When the train goes by, the single-paned windows rattle. If you're a light sleeper, don't live here.
Because of all the trees, it doesn't get really hot indoors in the summer, but the single-paned windows do let in a good deal of cold in the winter.
Parking is fairly decent, although I had a problem with an oblivious neighbor who (deliberately') kept opening his car doors into my vehicle. I ended up parking elsewhere.
Every building used to have a really beautiful clay tile roof; they just tore all that off and put up ugly non-descript shingles that don't go with the buildings at all. I don't know if the roofs needed to be replaced, but it looks like they picked the lowest cost crap to put up.
This is a very mixed crowd, with some UT students, some old Jewish ladies from when this complex started 30 years ago, and everything in between. Neighbors are pretty quiet, but the freeway makes up for the noise.
They water all spring, summer and fall every night, but the vast majority of the water seems to just flow into the driveways - besides, most of what they're watering is just ivy and weeds. Now that they're charging for water, this is an excess.
Management is not very accommodating on move-in and move-out; you fit *their* schedule, they don't fit yours.
