I'm not going to say anything other than this:
-Right now my AC is broken... my apartment is 86 degrees. It feels like Vietnam in the summertime. Sleep is not possible. This is the 5th time in three weeks this has happened. Management has shown no signs of actually getting the problem figured out, and they continually put forth an extremely passive "Oh. We'll get it taken care of" attitude. I find this extremely frustrating.
-I haven't been here a year and already I've had family and friends towed for parking in spots THEY TOLD US TO PARK IN during our orientation walk. A conversation with the office hardly yields a "sorry", let alone compensation for the mistake. The spots themselves are too small for even the smallest economy sized cars, and with each passing day you can watch the scratching, dinging and keying collect on your vehicle (it's like an unwanted art project).
-There is no security team (at least that I've ever witnessed) to handle the wanna-be hooligans that patrol these grounds at all hours. Living here is like watching "The Idiot's Guide to Being a Felon"... There are NO CONSEQUENCES for anything my fellow drug-slinging/bass-bumping residents do while on the Blunn Creek property. My girlfriend is often scared to walk from her car because she gets hassled in the hallway RIGHT OUTSIDE MY DOOR... not something I'm exactly comfortable with.
-Twice my refrigerator has broken and all the food perished. The first time I took it and didn't say anything. The second time I estimate my losses being $150-$200... When I mentioned this to the office, they asked us for receipts of every item we lost, which we could not supply because we usually just assume that things like our refrigerator will work as advertised (call me old-fashioned). Again, the office DOES NOT care that I pay hard cash to live here and have to put up with this. This is a place they show up from 9-5 everyday counting down the minutes until they can leave... forgetting that the rest of us have to live here.
-I have not had a toilet seat in 3 months. Upon moving in, it was loose but usable. Gradually, it came apart and fell off. I have made three requests for this to be repaired. My girlfriend has to pee standing up. Use your imagination for the other difficulties involved. Enough said.
-There are roaches, which I understand is part of summer in Austin. But they are a problem.
-Garbage disposal works when it wants... never been fixed, even after work-orders have been placed.
There is more. But I've got to go march down to the office to try and get an explanation why they can't seem to keep my AC from blowing hot air. I've slept 3 hours, and don't think I'll be sleeping anytime soon unless I've got tricks up my sleeve. Guess I should get practicing.
People. I know it's cheap and you may not make a lot of money. But please. Do yourself and your family and friends a favor. DON'T MOVE HERE.
