My husband and i have lived here since fall 2003 and it's been a mess since day one! But, the rent is the cheapest around (we have washer& dryer in the unit) and since it's close to ACC, on the bus route, and we're saving up to buy a home, we don't want to pay more money. The DAY i moved in the unit was NOT ready, it wasn't clean, maintenence was still working on it, and someone's stuff was in my washing machine! My movers had to put everything in the middle of the floor and the management had to hire a cleaning person to clean up! My tub has what looks like spilled paint all over it and the garbage disposal did not work(at all)for the first year. Maintenance is HORRIBLE. They come in w/out leaving a note, i complained about this once and was told that they were checking the AC units in everybody's apartment. It takes them forever to fix anything! I had a leak that lasted MONTHS despite calling and leaving several written notices (ONE example) After about 2005 I just stopped putting in requests unless they were major. Even so when my toilet leaked all over the floor and wouldn't flush, i couldn't get a hold of emergency maintenance and then it took them 2 weeks to fix my toilet!!! i couldn't pee in my own home for 2 weeks!!! The place is old and has many issues, water a major one. They shut the water off at alll hours of the day & night and I've had leaks/plumbing problems in the bathroom & kitchen several times and one leak in my living room. The AC is loud and doesn't work if it's too hot or too cold outside. In fact, I've had the following items repaired MORE THAN ONCE or replaced: toilet parts, kitchen sink parts, garbage disposal, door bell, oven, dishwasher, washing machine/dryer, & AC. I've had to have my locks changed one time b/c the lock broke and another time b/c i locked my key in my car and management had lost their key to my apt!! (guess that's why they didn't fix anything) once they changed the lock, i came home to find that the maintenence worker had dropped (or left) the NEW key to my apartment on the ground right outside my door!!!! so any Tom, Dic, or murdering Harry could have walked by and picked it up! Management has changed here more times than i can count and there are periods where the people are nice and seem to want to help, but nobody stays. Safety is an issue as 2 people were murdered here several weeks ago AND the cops are here EVERY SINGLE WEEK!!! i'm not exaggerating. TWICE (in the last 6 months) i've had someone try to open my door from the outside while i was home (i keep the door locked). Both times it was late in the evening and there had been a group of scary looking males hanging around outside. I did a history search when i first moved and found out this place used to be called Gentry's Walk or something and had a history of violent crimes. They've recently installed a gate to help w/safety but everything done here is half ass and they forgot to put in a pedestrian gate. So if you want to use the amenities of access to cap metro or walk to ACC, or if you want to walk outside of the complex for any reason (walking your dog) you'll have to walk all thru the complex to find a way out or wait for a car to come thru to get out of the gate. Anywho I have more stories about crap service than i care to write, BUT again, it's cheap and that's the ONLY benefit. However, due to the safety issues, we are not going to renew our lease this year.

We have been trying very hard to make this a better community by adding the access gates and by doing exterior rehab (siding replacement and paint).
