Overall, I think the apartment is okay. Management and maintenance are great. They usually respond to requests within a reasonable amount of time. I chose the Breakers b/c of the incredible view and central location. They're also always clean and ready when you move in. You can find a nicer place in north or southwest Austin, but this is probably one of the nicer complexes in the Riverside area. If you're only here for a year and/or are a student on a budget, it's not a bad place. Other places in Riverside are probably cheaper, though. They just seem to be in more shady areas of Riverside. The downsides are that yes, there are tons of rodents around. I had a problem with cockroaches for about a week in the summer, and I've had problems with mice this winter. But as soon as I told management, they had the maintenance guy come and patch up holes behind appliances in the kitchen. So far, I haven't seen anymore mice. And they sent the pest control to spray extra for the roaches. Now I've been running out of hot water since it got really cold outside. But I haven't reported it yet, so I can't really blame that on management. I just think if you move up to north Austin, you'll pay less and have a nicer place overall. Just a hell of a commute at 5:00 and early in the morning. And good luck finding parking at UT. The roads in Austin were not made with a fast growing population in mind. Sometimes it can take an hour to drive 10 miles. There are also nicer places centrally located but much more expensive.

**At first I did recommend this complex on here, but I still don't have hot water, and I did put a request in. I think they probably did work on it b/c it actually stayed hot for a minute, but this place is just so old. Overall, pick a complex that's not so rundown and full of rodents. I think it's not too much to ask to have hot water to take a shower. I've had 3 cold showers in a row. I would pay a little more and live in a newer complex in a nicer part of town. Or buy a house. Renting sucks!!!!
