Seems nice but...

From the outside the place seems nice. The lawns on yards are cut by the maintenance staff. Parking isn't hard to find since they've been enforcing a towing policy if a car does not have a parking permit. Granted, it wasn't hard to find before that either. The units are fairly spacious, well lit, and have reasonably new appliances. I was told that renovations were recently done on the property, if that's the case, then they were done on the cheap side. The paint is sticky and peeling. The roof leaked on my unit not once, but 3 times.
The company that owns the property advertises that it has a courtesy laundry room. However, nearly all of the washers and dryers are broken. Despite numerous attempts at contacting both the management and the company that is supposed to maintain the machines, no one will fix them. Both parties claim that it is the others responsibility. Thankfully, there are a number of laudromats in the neighborhood.
Numerous break-ins have occured to cars in the parking lot. The method by which maintenance requests are made is rediculous. You call, leave a message, and it may be a week before the maintenence supervisor gets back to you.
I have never required a pet deposit for my birds. They are small and live in a cage. Most properties don't even consider them pets. Yet, after a year of living here, I was informed by the staff that I would have to pay a pet deposit. One I would have willingly paid when moving into my unit. When I signed the lease, I was told that I didn't have to pay the fee. On numerous occasions the staff saw my birds. No one questioned me whether or not I had paid my pet deposit. In fact, I was only told to pay the fee when I had to contact the BBB to resolve a complaint on an entirely different matter.
Should the need arise that you wish to speak with someone, the apartment manager is unprofessional. When coming to pick up a check, she had yet to have the paperwork she wanted signed already typed and printed on company letterhead. Mind you, when she called I gave her an hour before I came to the office. Attempts to redirect your complaints to her boss go nowhere.
