I lived there for two years and had problems with downstair neighbors doing laundry at all hours of the night. I was on the third floor and with the washer/dryer room being off of the bedroom, every time the load got off balance and would do the thump-thump thing, it would make the floor and walls in my bedroom vibrate and would always wake me up. Sometimes this would happen several times a night. I even had prescription sleep medication and would be awakened by Mr. I-have-no-life laundry dude or the couple that moved in after him. Management would never do anything about claiming that they would be violating the tenants 'private property' rights. What about the right for someone to get a decent night's rest' What about disturbing the peace' With the help of the Austin tentants council, I broke my lease, without penalty, a month early and moved out. I would not go back, either.

If the Austin Tenants Council had not told me that insomnia, as long as there is a doctor's diagnosis, qualifies under the ADA, I would've had to stay through my lease.

They were good about pest control who came through each quarter and maintenance at the time. I will give them credit for that. The property exterior was also well maintained. They painted while I was there and did it during working hours while people were not home so that no one would be disturbed.
