Years at this apartment: 2009 - 2009
I have been living in the apartment complex since November 2008. Intially, I thought it was a great value for the apartment size and location. However, management has been slow to respond to maintenance issues, when they have responded; and, have not responded to issues that were brought to their attention in December (and, again in January). It is now May 29th! Electrical outlets don't work, a toilet leaks, and the main burner does not work on the stove. The A/C, which I use infrequently, struggles to cool as well.
Additionally, their late policy is BS. I've never been late on my rent. NEVER. However, in January I was out of town visiting family. Rent was due on the 1st. They have a 3-day grace period - standard for apartment complexes. I returned on the 4th and promptly gave them my check, only to be informed that I owed $50 more for being a day late. When I explained that I was within the grace period, I was told that the period expired on the 3rd. I'm a teacher. In my world - the world of education - 4-1=3; however, at Camden 4-1=4. It must be some kind of new math that doesn't compute. Anyway, they were jerks about it. I don't recommend renting from them, if you want timely maintenance service, working appliances, or usable electrical outlets. Also, if you can do math, you might want to steer clear as well; but, if you do rent from them, remember 4-1=4. Getting that problem wrong will cost you $50.
