I've lived at 1007 South Congress for almost 2 years now and my husband and I were thinking about moving up North to save some money. After looking at about 20 different apartment complexes in person and reading their reviews on this website, I thought about possibly staying here, since the other apartments were just as expensive and had awful reviews. Then I read the reviews for this place...

I realized how lucky we are to have the apartment model unit above us (no stomping on the floor) and somewhat quite neighbors. If I would have read these reviews before I moved here, I would have definitely not choosen this as my home. It seems you are taking a gamble that you will get a good location in this complex.

It's true that there are a lot of young people at this complex, and yes, they are loud at night. Especially if you live near a courtyard since every sound is amplified! We've called the cops a few times on crazy loud neighbors - the guy below us tried to assult someone for parking to close to the Starbucks (weird!) and the guys accross the hall from us are ALWAYS having parties.

And yet we pay $1,150 in rent every month! And we're thinking about renewing our lease! Why' Well, to be so close to downtown, Town Lake and South Congress of course. You can definitely find other nice apartments that have cheaper rent and are built to condo specs if you live out on 620 or far away from downtown, but you have to decide if you're willing to give up location for cheaper rent and more peace and quite.

We're still on the fence and can't decide if we are going to stay. After reading all these reviews I feel even less safe here, but when I read the reviews at 20 other "upscale" apartments, they all sound just like the ones here - bad management, loud neighbors, unsafe, etc. Maybe that's how all apartment complexes are'

So, if you're thinking about moving here definitely find out where your apartment would be located in the complex. Believe me, it will make a world of difference, and also realize that you'll have to sacrifice some comforts to live close to downtown.
