I'm a senior at the University of Texas. Living at Campus Estates or "CE", as the idiotic staff use, has been the worst decision of my college years. This complex has a serious problem with it's residents, the facilities and the management.

Residents
-A mix of students (mainly ACC), thugs, drunks, barbarians.
-Majority are inconsiderate and loud.

Facilities
-Grounds are poorly kept and frequently flooded. A lot of low lying areas become swamp-like for days after a rain.
-Frequently trashed grounds from incessant partying.
-Bird poop covering the "breezeways", and dog poop covering everything else.
-Security is purely cosmetic, as gates open freely and security code hasn't been changed in years.
-Grilling is prohibited.
-Broken glass and trash obscure view of the street.
-Poor insulation between apartments, expect to hear bass (and sirens) at all hours of the night.

Management
-Changes often, consistently terrible.
-Especially rude after learning you do not plan to release.
-I was in the leasing office on the last day and saw that they universally fined all residents upon move-out.
-Do not respond when you're locked out(which is frequent because of the key card system), I was forced to sleep in my car one night.

The bus route is also terrible, it can take up to an hour with heavy traffic. Buses are infrequent and undependable around rush hour and in the evening. Also, if you go to school early you will probably have to walk all the way up Crossing Place to guaranty yourself a spot.

Moving out of this place was probably the happiest day of 2006. Please live elsewhere, I hear that living on Oltorf is a lot nicer and more quiet.

I also came across a wall in the mail room posting the pictures of multiple sex offenders who lived in the complex.
