For four months of my lease, my apartment was unlivable. Repairs of a broken sewer pipe under my apartment left a whole in my kitchen floor and the entire floor of my living room removed with raw sewage exposed. This was left for months. No attempt was made to provide me other living accomodations. And...I was not released from my lease. Also, they threatened to sue me if I didn't pay rent for the months I couldn't even live there. Unbelievable! The company who owns this property takes advantage of people with limited funds. Other serious problems included:
-employees regularly entering the apartment with notice and reason, and making use of food, facilities and whatever else they wanted.
-employees entering and opening the windows and then either turning on the heat or the air conditioning
-employees leaving apartment doors open or unlocked
-shifting buildings in need of extensive repair
-plumbing that backs up and overflows on daily/weekly basis
-electrical wiring old and dangerous/ constant blackouts and sparking sockets
-water shut off without warning regularly
-homeless people live in the laundry facilities (most of which are damaged or don't work at all)
-rude, unintelligent management
-bathwater leaking into kitchen
-bugs!
-mold
-refusal to ever replace carpet, even though my apartment flooded every time it rained (upon moveout, I was billed for this flood damage!!!)
-incredibly thin walls. Remember, the neighbors can hear just as much as you can....
-oh yeah...fires and shootings are so frequent that you just might miss them when you leave.


How is it possible that this place is still open'''' Who regulates these properties'

I would certainly recommend not living here.
