I am coming close to the end of my lease and will be moving away from here. I love most of my neighbors, but the cons outweigh the pros. I no longer feel safe here. The workout room has been broken into 2 times and no changes have been made to address the problem. There is a public code to the main gate and I swear everyone in Austin knows it - including thiefs. If they can get in to steal TV's from the workout room, they can get in to rob or hurt me. The front "security" gates are open all day which allows anyone to come in and check us out. As for noise, while MOST neighbors are curtious, the walls and floors are paper thin. I was fooled by the "Condo construction" and "Concrete" between floors line. I rented a 1st floor unit - I know when my upstairs neighbor comes home and what room he is in at all times. My next door neighbor and I share a bedroom wall - I can hear her conversations and when she has overnight guests and all that goes along with that. Most dog owners do not pick up after their dogs and there is poop everywhere. It is unsightly and it stinks. Management is aware yet hasn't addressed this. I have to say that service requests are handled quite quickly as long as you tell the correct person. Natalia in the office is great. She truly cares and gets to the bottom of things quickly. If you catch one of the maintenance guys directly, they too care and will get things done quickly. It seems if I tell anyone else, I have to follow-up on the request. It's a shame because this place really could be an amazing place. Too many corners have been cut - shoddy construction and a new manager/assistant manager who don't seem to care.

I have lived at Canyon Springs for over a year now. I too have been here while the staff changed. However, I have found the new staff to be at least as friendly an efficent as the previous. As far as gates go, I have lived at a number of cummunities and there were problems at every single one of them. When they do work all anyone has to do is follow another person in anyway so that complaint is really not a very intelligent one. Interestingly if you bother to take the time and do some research you will also see that there have been a rash of TV's stolen, from fitness centers of apartment complexes accross the entire city of Austin. Noise from neighbors, that is a tough one but then again when I think back I have heard my neighbors at EVERY SINGLE APARMENT COMPLEX I have ever lived at. Maybe someone needs to rent or buy house or possibly accept the fact that community living means hearing your neighbors from time to time. I mean really everything I have said is just plain common sense. In closing I'd like to say that everytime I have entered the office I have been greated with a friendly smile and my concerns have ALWAYS been addressed. The Management and Maint, staff are great, the property is beautiful, and it's located in an awesome area of Austin.
