We have lived here since this year and really very much enjoy it. We have always owned houses and only rented an apartment once before, briefly, for 6 months. We are not generally apartment people. After finding out about Channing's Mark and seeing we could get almost 1,200 square feet on one floor, superbly laid out, a huge 19 x 17 covered patio, and a wonderful, private fenced yard, we knew this would be almost the same as having a house. I can't complain about our apartment, as it's all been recently upgraded by the former tenant. I believe she chose to do this at her expense, but I'm not sure. It is very, very nice. There is an unbelievable amount of deer, which we love! They seem to be almost semi-tame. You can feed them bread, they walk through the parking lot, and are just a reminder of how wonderful nature is.

As for the staff, Daisy has been fantastic to us. Always a smile, happy to see you, answers and addresses any questions or concerns. I only know of one maintenance guy, Ronnie, and he is polite and prompt. Currently, the office is closed on the weekend and during lunch. I don't feel like that's a big deal because everyone deserves to eat lunch and have a couple days off. Since this is a small community compared to most (around 100 apartments), I don't think it's economically possible to have a full staff as this complex probably doesn't generate revenue like a bigger complex. However, I prefer it this way because, being small, it is a quiet and peaceful community with excellent views and, again, the great wildlife. We wouldn't have moved here if it was any bigger.

I won't lie and say there's no problems. However, we personally have none. It is an older property and certainly could use some updating. It is very liveable as-is, though. The issues I know of are cosmetic, and maybe the company doesn't have the money to do it right now. The rent is low and I'd rather have a lower rent then new paint. Overall, the community is beautiful and in a beautiful location.

I agree with you. There are negatives in any community, and this one has several, but overall, everything you say is true. I've also been a tenant here since 2000. The longevity of many of the tenants here is testament to what you say.
