Living at Chateau Duval for one year was a terrible experience. I found the management to be unreliable and unproffessional and the facilities to be poorly maintained. First, there was leaking/flooding in the hallway closet that was not addressed promptly and led to a moldy smell and headaches! I liked to keep my apartment as well-maintained as possible and when I inquired into why my apartment was being shown several times a week (Saturday AMs and during class), I was told by the management that I kept the apartment so nicely decorated that they liked to use it as the model to prospective renters. The kicker was that when my mom got cancer and I had to terminate my lease two months early, I was told that my deposit would be returned, pending no damage to the apartment and if someone would take over the lease. Not true! Shady! When I wrote a letter to the management expressing my disappointment and letting them know I would not be recommending them to my friends, I was threatened with legal action! Paying a little extra in rent for your health and peace of mind is well worth it!
