Yo!

It was splendid until the complex came under new ownership

When the complex was under the Archstone company, life was great. The maintenance staff was excellent. I moved in with a poor refridgerator, medicine cabinet, and tiles in the bathroom. Two days later, the maintenance staff came and looked things over to tell me that I should be receiving brand new equipment to replace them all. The grounds were always clean and the staff were always in a pleasant mood. Any request made to the office is usually met in some fashion no more than 2 days.

I can't say the same about the new management staff who renamed the complex to the Chelsea Regent. They increased the rent by close to $100 if not more. The maintenance does a very shabby job. The response time for any inquiry will take a week or more. The attitude of the staff towards its tenants is reminiscent of the shady auto dealer.

Friendly neighbors are the thing of the past. A large amount of low income families have moved in since my time there. People have begun parking in fire zones making parking in some place extremely difficult. The management has done nothing to remedy this problem even though I personally noted the problem to them on several occassions. The settling calm has also left with the arrival of the new occupants. Noise has now become a problem.

The grounds have also become under attack. It is not quite as clean as before. The pool has a small green tint to it that was not there before. As a result, I have not seem many frequent visitors to the pool as I have before. The upkeep of even the fitness and laundry room has severely degraded. The water was constantly cut off without notice with the management reporting it as an emergency situation. Although they due give you frequent notices about it being shut off a day or two in advanced.

The strange thing about notices is that I never received many of them seeing that I lived on the 3rd floor. The tenants on the first and second floor would get them, but the occupants on the third floor would not receive anything. Even when the ice warning was issued only the first two floors were covered with sand to prevent icing. The third floor was iced over completely and there was an incident where one of the tenants on the third floor slipped and fell down the steps. Luckily he is ok. On a lighter note, the recycling units are still available for use. x-2PE3sjUIIeetAHoKOk
