Yo!

Total Sh*thole, DO NOT MOVE HERE

My boyfriend lived here for 2 years, and I came to visit him pretty much every weekend and all holidays and vacation days I had. This place is by far the worst apartment complex I have ever seen. You can trust my post, or you can trust the only one on here that says the place is great. Personally theirs sounds like an employee using a pretty lame sales pitch to get more people to move into their crappy complex so they can try to screw you over.
First of all, his move in was super easy. They act all happy and nice and even offered him a nice move in special: no deposit required! Seems nice but when he moved out they are trying to get him to pay all kinds of ridiculous charges and now they claim that since he didnt pay a deposit then, he has to pay one now that hes moved out. Those ------- in the office are attempting to charge him $1300 something dollars for repairs and -------- for things that were already broken in the apt when he moved in. They are charging him for a new refrigerator! When he moved in that thing was a piece, and I know that he told the office about it because I was the one who filled out the paper to send back to them. They are charging him for breaking a lease that wasnt broken. He stayed until the lease was up and then paid for 2 months rent even though he had a new place because it is required to give 60 days notice before you move out. THen, $80 for 6 lost keys. He only had one key, the one he used. These are just the problems he had AFTER he moved out.
While he lived there, it was terrible. The first few months were alright. This is compared to the rest of the crap that went down. There were some issues with things not working, and I filled out the paper and sent it back to the office. It took them over a year to come and fix them. They must have "lost his paperwork". The dishwasher didnt work, one side of the sink wouldnt drain, the garbage disposal wouldnt work, the toilet wouldnt flush, the shower wouldnt drain and the bathroom would flood the bedroom floor. The first 6 or 7 months his air conditioner didnt work either. It wasnt such a problem until summer came and they still hadnt fixed it. The whole apartment is old and the electricity is not efficient whatsoever. In the summer time his electricity bills would be at least $300. This was for a one bedroom place! Our electricity bill is only $100 now and we live in 1300 sq. ft home. In my opinion these were substandard conditions. It was so bad that he had to fix some of the things himself out of his own pocket. Then came the break-ins. Now I agree that car break-ins happen everywhere, but twice' Then the apartment itself was broken into 3 times. As for security, where'!'! In the two years that he lived there, there was a security car there at night for a month or so. I never saw him once drive around the complex. He would sit in his car at the front of the complex. Great security huh' All of the lights at the back of the complex are out. They sent notices to let the wonderful office know if the lights needed to be repaired, but did they actually come do it, not until a week before he was to move out. 2 years with no street lights.
Now with the entire complex, they claim to be a gated community. That gate does not keep anyone that wants to get in there out. Its broken a lot of time, and when its not the code hasnt been changed in years. Every solicitor within a 20 mile radius knows that gate code. You can just mention the complex name to just about anyone and they know the code too. The office people are so desperate for tenants they will let ANYONE move in there. In the last few months he lived there it just got worse and worse, until eventually I was afraid to even go outside by myself. One night we had a couple of friends over, and when my friend who is female went outside she was attacked outside by her car. Oh but they have security so you can feel nice and safe. Strange people walk around constantly. And as for the office staff' Well honestly I can say that I dont really have any idea who they are. The staff changed multiple times just in the two years he lived there, and they are never hardly around when you need them nor do they return phone calls. You go to the office to pay your bills and they will lock the door in your face and tell you they have places to be at 3 in the afternoon. The laundry room is scary. When I did my boyfriend's laundry, I would have him to with me because on a couple of occasions I walked in there and there was a man standing in there, alone, in the dark, with no washers or dryers going, and condom wrappers scattering the floor. And the pool, it may be open now, but it was closed for the entire summer last year. It was supposed to be finished in august and they didnt get it done until february or march of this year. When it rains, there is mud all over the sidewalks. I am not talking about a little bit dirty, I am talking about your-going-to bust-your-ass if you walk on it muddy. And you cant exactly go around it when you are trying to get to the laundry room.
Overall, this place is a dump. You would think as crappy and ghetto it is that the rent would be cheap. You couldnt be more wrong about that. Its rather expensive to live there, there is nothing special or great about the place other than it is directly behind ITT technical institute, and its more ghetto than the actual ghetto. THe office people could care less about you, the apartments are cheap and falling apart without anyone to come and repair what you are paying to rent, and then they will rip you off when you try to move out. We have had other apartments and lived in different cities and we have never had any problems with them, except for this place. Take it from me, don't even bother with this place. There are some really nice communities out there, and much prettier than Chelsea Regent. If you are looking for a cheap and nice place to live, try the south side. My boyfriend and I moved into a wonderful townhome in Woodway Village. You can pay $500-600 for a small, ------, ghetto community or you can pay that much for a truly beautiful, brand new, and wonderful community. Do not listen to the only "yes" post on here, its obviously a lie because no one that has ever lived here and not been an employee would say that this is a good place to live.
