Safety & Environment:
For the first couple of months of our lease, the complex seemed to be full of nice, quiet, hard-working people who respected others and their property. But suddenly that all changed and cars were being broken into, even a woman was assaulted. So the apartment management hired a rent-a-cop who must have been magical...because he/she was nearly invisible. Maybe they were working undercover' Check Austin's online crime statistics for 2007 for the address. 30 crimes involving a police report. That averages out to 2.5 crimes per month and think of all the incidents that went unreported. Seriously, they should install gates or find some way to get the drug dealers and gang members out of there.

Oh, and pick up the dang litter these folks are throwing around. A paper bag wrapped beer can sat on my stairwell landing for 2 weeks prior to me moving out and as far as I know it's still there! No, your tenants don't like living in a place that looks like it was built on top of a landfill!

Watch out! When we moved out, we were hit with all kinds of crazy charges for things that normally are done during the make-ready process. They seem to forget that cheap "apartment carpet" wears and stains, and cheap apartment fixtures scratch and break easily. These are not quality products they use, but they are extremely expensive to replace. They have an outlandish "menu" that they give you when you sign the lease detailing how much everything costs to fix. I've never, ever had an apartment issue a bill when I moved out so I know these people are out to make a few bucks off of so-called unacceptable conditions upon move out. I mean seriously, have you ever moved into an apartment who hasn't replaced the carpet' That carpet they use is dirt cheap and they want to charge $1400 to replace it' I watched them replace carpet after carpet from all the people moving out. So our deposit is gone and we have a monstrous bill from them for something they have to do anyway. Go figure!

Staff: I can only think of one that is worth anything. The rest are sub-standard, just like the community and management company they work for. Law of attraction anyone'

Privacy: Like your privacy' That's not on the amenities list at this apartment complex. I've never seen a management company so interested in what's going on in their tenant's apartments. Between 6-8 "mold or smoke detector inspections" in 11 months is a bit excessive, don't you think' If they spent half as much effort on screening/clearing out the riffraff, grounds keeping, litter pickup, and parking enforcement as they do in snooping, they'd probably have a decent apartment complex (if they installed gates too).

Parking: A total nightmare. They tried to enforce a parking sticker rule without much success. I actually saw tow stickers once. Don't plan on parking in a lit area if you haven't staked your claim to a parking spot by 4:30 p.m.

That's about it. Overall, we were pretty miserable there and regret ever having set foot on the property. The only positive thing is that we are finally out of there!

There are many much better places to rent out there! Don't give up and certainly don't settle for this awful, awful place!

Just goes to show you how unprofessional management has become. Expect another illiterate post to this review from "the office." The staff are more interested in gossiping about the tenants than they are in doing their jobs. They ride around in their little carts all day watching everyone so they can have something to talk about and stir up. The previous manager (Claire) ran a tight ship with the tenants and the office staff but the office staff complained about her and got her removed. Management knows who the drug dealers are but will not take steps to evict them. Sadly, a property that once looked very nice now looks very "ghetto". This is not a safe place for children.

I have found that the office staff will also pick and choose who they enforce the rules of the lease with. If they like you, then your golden. Doesn't matter what you do, you won't get a lease violation. The most you might get is a phone call or a "letter". If they don't; they'll hit you with that lease violation letter at every tiny opportunity they get.
