Better if you don't have kids, although the schools are great! Pet Deposit will choke you - as will the increased monthly fee for having a pet. Very young, single or newly together typical Austin yuppie scene. College kids on a healthy trust fund with no concept of the real world are there too. Management is really pretty good but they have turnover galore. Maintenance has always been outstanding. Parking is aweful in buildings 1 and 2 - marginal in the other buildings. The view of downtown is very nice from the pool - although new buildings have sprung up on MoPac that are blocking what used to be even better. Typical thin wall apartment construction makes for noise between apartments. MoPac is very noisy during rush hour and the comes right in from outside as white noise. Floorplans are very open but typical cheap apartment construction. What you are getting is Location, Views, Great Public Schools. Recycling-no'' Come on! This is supposed to be environmentally conscious Austin!! We really did like it there once we got used to the absurd amount of money we were paying for an apartment - Quickly approaching California pricing - although the Tech boom town has gone bust (for now).
