I have lived here for 9 months and I can't wait to leave. The neighborhood is horrible. My truck was broken into, two people were shot not too long ago, and my girlfriend has to carry a can of mace to walk to the HEB not even two blocks away, because all the --------- whistle and honk at her.
After 8pm it's hard to get a parking spot close to the buildings, and I hesitate to park very far away. My girlfriend's car was towed after parking 15 minutes next to the dumpster (at 9o'clock at night), but every night I go past there a car or truck is parked in the same spot.
Maintenance is very friendly but has not come to fix my leaky window I asked them to fix a month ago.
The apartments themselves are fairly decent for the rent, but not worth it due to the neighborhood.

You don't have to carry mace to combat HONKING. It's obnoxious and sexist, but not dangerous. (From a gringa w/ the same problem who lives in the same area.)
