There is alot of room for opinion on Club Creek apartments. I am a current resident and here are my opinions.

As far as the apartment staff is concerned they are very helpful compared to other places we have lived. They care alot about their tenants and they work really hard to help people out. Maintenance staff members are ok but change from time to time. They seem to quit often. I have seen 4 different maintenance men since we have been here. The apartments themselves are huge with lots of storage and balcony space. We have a 2 bdrm 2 bath and pay $630. The apt has vaulted ceilings and each bathroom has a separate little vanity room with tons of cabinet space. LAtely the complex has been very unkempt. There is trash strewn about everywhere due to inconsiderate tenants. I do not fault the staff because it seems they are unable to point a finger being as most of the problematic people of the complex come out after business hours. There are some lazy stay at home moms that let their bratty kids run around the complex unsupervised all day long (young children)unsupervised pulling garbage out of dumpsters to "play house" with. Also expect alot of dings in your car since nobody in this complex seems to know how to drive.

The bad parts of this area the complex is set in is that the surrounding area is dangerous, noisy, and unnatractive. There is no light at the intersection of longspur and N. Lamar and if you plan on going left you may wait for a while in order to turn because traffic in this area is so heavy. If you are walking you will need to walk 1/4 mile to the nearest crosswalk to cross the street to the main stores. Also you will need to cut through dangerous parking lots filled with erratic drivers due to lack of sidewalks. If you live near the side facing Lamar, you will hear the Wendy's Drive Thru speaker all night since they are open until 3 am. Traffic tends to make alot of noise on this side of the complex as well. Longspur blvd always has broken glass all over it from people that went to Desperados and parked in our area and threw their beer bottles. This area carries a high crime rate as well as a ton of nearby resistered sex offenders(see APD site) and carries the highest car insurance rate in all of Austin due to the amount of accidents in this area (www.geico.com) Some of the tenants are extremely noisy and love to leave trsh outside, but you will find that with most complexes in Austin. Expect a mild roach problem. Although we have rid ourselves of the pests, everytime someone moves in or out they reappear. The water bill tends to run $50 or more a month which is higher than the average Austin water bill of $32.00/mo (see Austin Energy site). The apartments as well as the area are predominately Hispanic and AfricanAmerican instead of the more culturally integrated apartments of other areas. There are just a couple caucasion people living here and they don't seem to stay all that long (supposedly breaking leases to get out of the area). I don't say this to be rude, just to let you know what the breakdown is. Also expect a roach problem.

Once my lease is up I will be moving out to a better neighborhood. Unfortunately my apartment will not be as big as the one I have now but atleast our family will be in a safe neighborhood. We also won't have to deal with $125/mo electric bills! I would move as far away from the Rundberg/NLamar area as possible.

If you DO decide to move here sign a 2month (supposedly this is offered according to their site) or a 6 month. The rent has only been coming down so you don't have anything to lose and you can test it out before you commit to a full lease. Do not listen to apartment locators that tell you this complex is "super" (while they live in Round Rock)although they are usually free, they get a huge commission by the apartments. Ask questions....I would NOT suggest moving here.

It sounds like it was pretty bad there. I am trying to find a white woman Rebecca Lewis who lives there. She is a 5 foot two 125 pound woman who had 2 mixed race kids. Could you email me at Randyforehand@aol.com if you have any info.

Thank you
Randy
