UPDATE 9/2008-------------------------------------
When I got home from work one day last week, my whole apartment smelled like sewage. I discovered that somehow the sewage had backed up into both sides of the kitchen sink and it was also leaking from the pipes underneith.

I immedately called our emergency maintenance line at arount 6pm. I couldn't take the smell so I left after no one had come out in about an hour.

When I came back at 8 or so, the maintenance people still hadn't shown up. I called the next morning and they sent a guy out about 45 min later. After working on the sink for a couple hours and getting that stinky $hit all over the kitchen floor, he finally said, "I think it's fixed butI don't know and... if it happens again, you need to call the office." So, I guess I'll do that but I would have loved to hear that this would never happen again :( it was DE-scusting with a capital DE!!

Also, one of my neighbors near by leaves their two small dogs out on the patio and they start barking every morning at around 5:30am litterally non-stop until about 8/9am. And just so I'm clear, it's not just a few barks here and there, every few minutes, these dogs don't let two solid seconds go by without barking... AT NOTHING! If you're reading this and these are your dogs, your pets are really annoying your friendly neighbors around you. We're just too nice to complain to the office. So could you please give us a break' :)

UPDATE 8/2008 -------------------------------------------
I have now lived here for a little over two months now and decided to give an update: I'm noticing little flaws in my apartment that I guess I may have overlooked at first.

THE KITCHEN CABINETS have little openings in them and one of my baby kittens crawled in and couldn't get out. We ended up having to take the dishwasher out to rescue her and found that there were lots of filthy things hiding under there... there was OLD DOG FOOD from God knows how long ago. There are also cracks in the cealing that I guess may be an indicaton of foundation issues.

One of my neighbors in the same building got their motorcycle STOLEN a few weeks back, the people above me are retarted or something, they keep up so much NOISE I am considering going up there and asking them to please keep it down.

PARKING STILL SUCKS though. I went in to the office to see if I could get a covered/reserved spot. The lady behind the desk told me I was "in luck" because they're going for only $10/month now. I said, sign me up! Turns out, the only reserved parking spots available are in front of another building... which are even farther away from my apartment than the FREE spots I usually can find when the ones in front of my building are taken. Do they really expect me to pay for a less convient spot than one I could find closer for free' They should work that out!

All in all it's not so bad. The people here are pretty friendly, pools are clean and my car hasn't been broken into yet, so I guess I cant complain too much.

6/2008 ------------------------------------------

I just moved to Colonial Village and so far it is really nice. I am very happy with that I m getting for the price.

PARKING: Im considering getting a covered parking spot ($15.00) because parking has been unreliable at best. Sometimes I get a spot right in front of my building. Sometimes, I m sure I m taking someone else s beloved spot right in front of THEIR building. Granted, the parking is not great but that is my only complaint about the property.

PROPERTY: The grounds are well kept, both pools are clean and it s overall pretty quiet. The Cable is included in the price of rent ($45.00). I m not sure if one could opt out of cable, say, incase they wanted to go with Dish Network or something But I was planning on getting digital cable any way and in doing so at Colonial Village, I m saving a couple of bucks on my Cable/Internet package with Time Warner Cable so I m a happy camper.

STAFF: The staff there are really friendly. I especially love working with Jeff because he is always so pleasant and understanding. He really seems to care about the residents. I have lived in other apartments where the staff is only nice BEFORE you sign the lease and after that, they re never in the office, never answer the phone and couldn t care less what your maintenance issue was. So far so good. I m new to Colonial Village but it seems to me that things will be just fine there.

I have to agree with your comments about neighbors upstairs, however, I think it has less to do with them being noisy and more with the fact that the craftmanship of the building is ------. I literally hear them (my upstairs neighbors) just walking around. I know what time they get up in the morning, what time they get home, when they eat dinner, when they take a ---- and when they go to bed. It drives me insane. I have invested in ear plugs, and that helps, but I think its ridiculous I have to do that in my own home. Does anyone else have this problem, and if so, what else is there I can do? If you are considering living here I suggest you get a third floor unit and avoid this all together.
