Honestly...You live in an apartment!

I am writing my review to clear up one thing and one thing only...
PEOPLE-- YOU LIVE IN A FREAKING APARTMENT!!!
If you want silence, privacy, your own level of security, and all this perfection you speak of...BUY A HOUSE! The rates are at 4.6% today and the prices are at an all time low! Quit complaining and buy yourself a nice little house where your neighbors dog doesn't bark, no one lives above you, and instead of a gate for a sense of false security, you'll have a driveway...Will that make you feel better'
My husband, DOG, CAT, and I have lived @ CV@QA coming up on a year now and we have been very satisfied with our experience. We have the 952sq. ft 1bed/1bath w/ den plan, on the second level, and pay $775/mo. on a one year lease. The rent was originally $855 but with a 1 mo. free special prorated throughout the lease, it lowered our rent to $775. Not bad! In our time here, I have seen about 3 silverfish, 4 cockroaches, and 5 ants...Each time, I called the office with a request for the exterminator to pay me a visit and on the next Friday (now Monday is the scheduled day) the FREE extermination service was at my door...Thinking back on my apartment search before re-locating to Austin...Almost every other complex I found had hundreds of reviews solely ranting about BUGS! I can live with noise...I can't live with bugs! If you consider 12 bugs in 10 months infestation, you're delusional and shouldn't have a right to post a review.
When you live in a complex with 500 other people, you can't expect perfection. The staff consists of 5-10 people...They are NOT miracle workers and they can only do so much. I think they're doing a pretty fair job. The office has no control over your neighbors dog who barks at 5am. Tell them and they will fix it. If you sit at home on your computer and complain about it on a website, how is the staff ever going to know''' I want to know what area of the complex these cars are getting broken into and stolen from because I've never heard of such things except ONE break-in right after Ike evacuations my neighbor had a relative from Houston and his car was broken into--kind of his fault when you live somewhere with 500 people and you drive around with your speakers blaring "F The World" and your bass up loud...You're kind of asking for it, right'
The parking is not great but for the 5th time-- WE LIVE IN AN APARTMENT COMPLEX!!! What do you expect...Friday and Saturday- don't expect to get a spot anywhere near your apartment if you get here in the evening. During the week, it's not so bad. The parking could be a little more organized but, hey, a little exercise is good for us all.
I feel the complex is very safe and the grounds are very well kept. I walk my dog 4 times daily, sometimes alone, and sometimes with my husband. Day and night I never feel unsafe. I'm not naive- I do carry my pepper spray- but I feel it's overall well-lit and a safe place to be. Gates or no gates. The lawn maintenance is EXCELLENT, as I see the caretakers here twice a week for literally a WHOLE day. I hear them between 7-9 am and they are here until 7pm. They do an excellent job keeping the bushes and grass looking beautiful.
These are all of my comments for now, and I know this is a very long and detailed review, but I want potential renters to look past the bad reviews and realized this is what you're asking for by moving into an apartment. If you want to be secluded and on your own, your only option is to buy a house...I don't understand how people got so darn picky! BEGGERS CAN'T BE CHOOSERS!!

It was my car that was broken into, twice in one year. The first time could have been "my fault" for having rims, but I'm sorry if I like to have nice things. The second time was my truck that had nothing aftermarket on it at all. When I reported the second to the office they said "well that's the first that we have heard of any break-in's" which I know is false bc my neighbor's car had actually been stolen three days prior which she reported. We were towards the front of the complex and we were told sorry, but it's a "high traffic area". Honestly all they need is a little better lighting and it would probably help a lot. Either way, I don't live there anymore and I am glad you feel that your stuff is safe.

How long ago was this? I know there have been some changes in management over the past few years. I'm sorry to hear about the break ins and hope you recovered your belongings. Where in the complex did you live? The closer to the front gate you are, the more likely it is people would do things because they have a quicker escape route. We live far from the main entrance gate but very close to the exit gate. It's very quiet over here. Thanks for your input.
