So I see the other reviews for this place and I feel like I have to respond.
I moved here in June of 2006, so I've been here for 3 years. I am a single, white, female who lives alone. I've lived in two different apartments here, one on the ground floor and one on the third floor. The only reason I switched is because I enjoy living on the top floor. There's been nothing wrong with either apartment.
I've never felt unsafe in anyway at all. Living anywhere is about having common sense. Do I hang out half dressed in the parking lot at night, no obviously not. But that's the only way I can see feeling unsafe is putting yourself into a situation of your own making.
I have also never heard gunshots or seen anything crazy in the parking lots. I'm sure there are drugs or bad stuff around but that stuff exists everywhere and I've never personally experienced any of it here.
I've never had my car broken into. Once, some retarded kid wrote "Crips rule" across my hood in blue dry erase marker. The rain washed it off. That's my one and only experience with anything like that, and that was about 2 years ago.
I'm a clean person and I don't/never have had any trouble with bugs. If you do, maybe you should clean.
Maintenance can be a bit slow. I haven't really needed them for much but the one or two times I did, I had to remind them a couple times to make sure I was still in the que. Things are a bit older here, nothing horrible but I think the carpet could use to be replaced. I figure if that's my only complaint, for 500 bucks a month I'm doing pretty good.
I never have trouble finding parking outside my apartment so that's good.
Also, they just resided the entire apt. complex and repainted everything, it looks really nice. They're also working on repaving sections of the parking lot, which needed it badly. So that's really nice too.
All in all, the moral here is this is a cheap, safe, basic place to live. It's not a five star villa but it works just fine for me.

My water is about 30 a month. Electric really varies depending on the time of the year in the winter it runs about 50 bucks a month in the summer i use the hell out of my ac, so it runs about 120. hope this helps.
