I've lived in Deerfield close to 2 years now, and we're planning on renewing our lease again this fall. It's sad to read about people who have had such bad experiences here, because I only have good things to say about the place.

The office staff and maintenance people are super friendly. We had new cabinets installed last week, and while the carpenter was there he noticed that our front door stuck a little so he went ahead and fixed that too. When we asked for our kitchen faucet to be fixed, they simply replaced it with a much nicer and more updated faucet.


A note to a couple complaints I've read on here:

1. No parking- When you sign your lease, you may chose an apartment with a garage, or pay for an assigned covered spot to ensure that you always have a place to park.

2. Thin walls- It's an apartment, not a house. If you're choosing to live in a building with a lot of other people, of course you'll hear things from time to time. Aside from the occasional bump or scuffle noise from the floor above us, I've never heard any noise to complain about.

3. Rent- Rent is high in Austin! You're also paying for amenities. If you're not interested in a dog park, gym, basketball court, pool/hot tub area, outdoor grilling, events (pool party, happy hour, weekend brunches), or clubhouse amenities, then maybe you should look for a cheaper apartment that does not offer these to all of its residents.


The only complaint I can think of is towards some residents, not the management- I have a dog, I always pick up after him. I would appreciate if everyone in the community did the same.

1st of all: you cannot "CHOSE" an appt with a garage, you can purchase a garage space that may be quite far from your own living space, as in several buildings far! 2nd: check out the ither apts on Brodie - they offer teh same if not better amenities and you do not pay extra for them, they are truly luxery items offered to residents as a courtesy at other places. Deerfield nickle and dimes their residents for every single luxury they can, and are worse than most the places on the same street (across the street adn right next door!).
